Well I just got a 06 Z Enthusiast Black 6MT with Nismo Full Exhuast and Nismo Cold Air intake.

But the dealer didnt drill into the front and i was wondering what the best way to mount the Plate. To use the ZEE plate or is there a different way.

i'd keep it off if your state allows you too. If they're moaning about a front plate, then the Z bracket is the best option, it allows you to not damage the car. It might block some air flow to the CAI, but I don't think it's a problem.

Z-Bracket... I asked the dealer not to drill holes in my bumper. You can prolly get them drilled if you regret not having that.

 

Where can i get that Grille mount ive seen on some Zs? im guessing it just hooks onto the grille so there is no drilling involved

 

Texas requires it also but {knocking on wood} I've never had one, I'd rather pay a fine since it's not a moving violation. I've probably just jinxed my damnself.

 

I bought a front plate bracket from my Nissan dealer who stocks some made by Stillen. They attach to the tow hook receptacle. I know some members of the forum have designed their own that attach in the same way. Maybe the "Z plate" referred to does too.

Here's how I solved the front plate dilemma...you do not have to drill any holes to mount the Z front plate. Here's the trick...
Go to your local auto parts store and buy the $2.99 "Universal License Plate Bracket". It is about 8" long with LOTS of holes and slots so it will fit any application.
Go to your local hardware store and get two 3"X1/4" toggle bolts. Mount the bracket with the toggle bolts through the grill to each side of the tow-hook area. DO NOT drill holes...snug it down. Mount your plate TO THE BRACKET. That's it!
The bracket fits over the tow-hook area and is easily removed by simply loosening the toggle bolts. Since the plate is mounted to the bracket and NOT the grill directly...there is no contact to painted areas and thus no rubbing/scratching. Total cost about $4 bucks

I found that the Zee Bracket was able to mount in my billet grill with ease. I put it pretty low as to not block the air flow too much.

 

Do you have pics you can show? I plan on doing this when I get my new bumper. I have a license plate bracket which I just bought from the auto store, but it doesn't seem to have "lots" of holes as you describe.

 

I actually made my own bracket using a reverse thread bolt and the tow hook mount. I'll take some pics of it in the morning. Took maybe 20 minuets and most of that time was looking for some scrap metal to use for the idea.

 

Ill risk the fix-it ticket. Front plates kill the look.

Anyone else got cost-effective suggestions besides zip ties? I bout a universal bracket and tried to follow the steps sluggoZ described. I just don't understand how the toggle bolts are supposed to mount behidn the grill next to the tow hooks. I feel like the 3" isn't long enough either.

 

My front license plate is under my seat. I run the risk too. I am lucky that I live in a border town and the other state does not require a front plate so if a cop sees me coming he probally assumes I live in the other state. I have never been pulled over in the 3 years I have done it.
