So I installed my driver's side SPARCO
 

...and although the SEAT is comfy, I feel like its REALLY high up. I feels to be a solid inch higher than stock. I actually had to use the tilt wheel to move the steering wheel up so i can get in and out now. Also, ive only got about an inch of headroom now too.

I installed a sparco torino (still waiting on my passenger seat bracket) and authentic sparco seat base.

Anyone else experience this or know if I can remedy it w/o buying another bracket or getting it custom modified?

I'm kind of at the end of my rope and either want to sell my touring seats and my sparcos and buy stock cloth or sell the car just because I can't get the interior to be comfortable for me AND supportive w/ sporty driving or long drives. This is on top of my bose stereo not playing CD's anymore... evo is sounding good... thoughts?

Don't they make lower seat rails?

Well I had heard that it would be the same or lower than stock... and most aftermarket seats ive been in, in any car, come out the same or lower... so I dont know WHAT the deal is.... It never crossed my mind that they might be higher until i put em in and sat in them and was like.... wtf?


xedes - how do you like your 9857 btw? hows the ipod interface? was thinking about getting that to replace the broken bose headunit ive got.... is there a different headunit you wish you bought instead?

I'm eventually going to switch to a DVD player. The Alpine W205 comes out in may, so I'll wait for that. As far as the 9857, it's the best. I looked at quite a few other radio's before I bought it ( Kenwood, Pioneer ) and the Alpine won hands down. Their Ipod interface is still the best out there.

what brackets are you using?

sparcos - authentic, not custom made.

oh lord, i just had my torino's installed today, haven't picked up the car yet...authentic brackets as well...how tall are you?

awww fock! i'm 5'11, i was hopin you were 6'3 or so then i'd be fine with the height....well we'll see, i get mines back tomorrow.

Yeah, let me know... i thought this was weird because usually seats come out lower, but ive been searching through the board and it appears im not the ONLY one that this has happened to, but i think im the only one who didnt like it.

I used the Torino's I have in my Z first in my Prelude, and it happened to me both times. The seat sat higher aftermarket as opposed to OEM.

However, I'm barely 5'7", so this isn't a bad thing for me.

HEY soo whats the problem guys, im almost 6 foot n im looking to buy the sparco torino 2s with there mounts, will my head be hitting the roof or whats exactly the problem.. can someone with these seats shed some light on the issue...

ps to u seat owners, how much n from where did u get ur seats from..IE how many seats from where n for how much, also if sliders mounts etc included or purchasedd..

Get custom mounts, or buy a different type of seat. I ended up pulling my sparcos out yesterday and you are a good 2-3" taller than me. I would do some more hw on other seat styles and brands and what people 6'+ are using.

my seats (brides) ended up higher than stock too.. i don't like it but I'm only 5' 10" so i got a little ways to hit the roof.. it's easier to get out of the car tho lol

I had the torino 2's installed over the weekend and I must say that it isn't that big of a deal to me. I'm 5'11, there is a difference and the sparco seats are higher...however, I don't really have a problem with it IMO...and it IS easier to get in and out of the car....I don't kick my door pods anymore...lol.

hey leemik what kinda brides and what brackets did you use?

weird that you guys think its easier to get in and out, for some reason to me it was harder to get in and out.... did you guys have to move your steering wheels up like I did also?

so ur about 6foot tall n u have no issues wit ur head hitting the roof or it being to tight or anything, are u using the sparco brackets n sliders desighned specifically for our cars?? ... im about 5'11'' 200 pounds n was loooking to buy these seats, but reading other pplz posts it seemed that these seats were meant for smaller pplz.... hopefully other ppl that are larger can shed some light on this issue...
