OP.. just an idea.. repeating design cues is always good for linearity.. why not buy one of the gauge pod crown covers and mimic the same stich patern as the center cluster cover onto it? Leather etc.. that'd look sick i think. Right now in your prototype pic, the steering wheel area looks left out and very Nissan OEM .. i think that touch would tie that area together and be cheap and fast as well.

If you can match the seats in , SICK-made.. good job man.

Doesn't get in the way of shifting at all, I've checked. And the picture is just a guide/idea what the shapes would look like. Color of the stitch and it's placement may change. If I would have used any other color u wouldn't have noticed it the sketch. Same with my various gray shades(didn't feel like using and gradients in my mock up)

I've thought about molding this (I know how to) but I'd prolly only make at most 4 or 5 (keep it limited) still haven't decided tho.
If you do make 4 or 5, put me down for one
It looks sick, loved the back seat project and I'm sure this will come out just as well. Keep up the amazing work

Crazy project! Looks great. In your illustrator sketch did you move the shifter back? It looks like it is further back in your drawing vs. the cardboard mock-up. It seems like the shifter is too close to those triangles in your real pic. Might just be the angle of the shot though.

No didn't move the shifter in the pic. Just drew around it. It's close but my hand still fits between the shifter and my new pieces. I am think about a shifter extender with matching **** to finish it off.

Now that I see some of u are actually interested I'll start seriously consider making a couple, We'll see

dome over the three gauges is where its at. I'd be all over this.

as stated by someone before I am worried about the comfort of having the vertical "OH $#!T" handle on the drivers side right by the shift ****.

could make it one sided and leave on the passenger side like lamborghini has done

btw OP, thers another member who is very good at CAD that is making a gated shifter assembly for the 6mt now.

Ive been PMing back n forth w him on some ideas as ive kicked this around for years on other cars.. were looking at ABFLUG z32 parts and design ideas.

anywyas, throwing it out there.

My twm short shifter and extension.. the extension? Meh.. it threads to far up, causes exposed shifter that doesnt look like the same piece, or you ahve to sport highwater boot action.. can be fixed, but i wont get into that here.. anyways.. just an idea on parts and who makes them etc.

was recently looking at the is300 waterfall section and it looks similar to your renderings. was contemplating picking one up and hacking it to work on this, or i can send it your way and see what ya think.

I like that shift extender. Think it would be a sick addition to my project. Even with the boot. Especially if I move the stereo up and out of the way.

I'm watchin the gated shifter thread, Will definitely add one if it happens like we all hope.

demn I really like this! missed this one, but it would be a totally different design if i wanted to go that route. That entire console is tipped towards the driver, R8 kinda has that same asymmetrical design going to it.

who knows maybe I start a side biz producing & sell different designs and interior parts. Seems not to many companies tackle large interior upgrades other than seats & stereos. I'm training/teaching one of my homies to do this kind of stuff too, so he can help me. We're gunna try and tackle some pretty major interior projects on his wrangler tj (can't do just z's). Try and bring it up to par with the current luxurious wrangler interior.

liked the tt too (step-grandpa had one) makes me kinda want to paint it and show my bolts/mounting hardware, but nah. Ya you guys are picking up on all the cars I took a lil inspiration from
