Dented quarter panels
2 Attachment(s)
So someone thought they would have fun with my car while I was at work. Dented the right quarter panel, painted cracked on the left quarter. I'll post up pictures but I want to know if I'm getting ripped off. I'm finding it hard to believe the body shop can only order a new quarter panel for the right panel. The left they would have to paint but the right is what I am most skeptical about.

Sorry about that I just had a change to put pics up this morning. It's snowing here in Ohio but you can see the dent and crack in paint. The dent looks smaller than what it is in person but the point is the location. They say because were it is they have to get a new quarter panel?
Sorry, but this is going to be a relatively expensive job if you want it done right. |
Those didn't just happen. Both have rust on them.

Both look repairable, but I'd have to see it when the car has been washed. At least once.

Just about time to buy rear over fender kit:thumbup:

Correct, they were a month before winter. Just now able to do something about it financially. |
Thank you for all the replies. You guys were dead on with what the body shop said guess I didn't want to believe them. I'm wondering if it would be better to get my insurance involved since it is vandalism.

You sure one of those damn moving light poles didn't get ya? Heard they are real active during the winter.

That makes more sense.
Get some quotes from the local body shops. Then look at your deductible and weigh your options. |

My deductabel is 1k so I'm probably going to be spending a little more for the quarter panel and paint on that one alone. I'm just hoping I won't have to get the whole left quarter panel painted I'm more worried about the rust forming on my door handles and left side mirror not sure what to do with that. This thing has been killing me in the last year :suicide:

Have a Paintless Dent shop look at it first. They may be able to help you out a lot cheaper depending on how bad the rust is(think $200-$300). Worth a shot if you ask me. You'll have to get it repainted but it will at least get the panel back to 100% then its all about taking care of the rust.
