Not seeing far enough with your HID's?

http://www.our350z.com/todo-5.html

After buying my car used, I drove it since May with the Hid's only showing like 2 car spaces ahead. I followed these instructions and now I can see waaaay farther. Passed a couple cars last night and they didn't high beam me.

Easiest way is to buy a $5 screwdriver - 2x8 phillips It's like a foot long and skinny.

That's actually the HARD way to do it. If you use a 18" screwdriver, you can do it from the top. I didn't know about 27 1/2" though. I think after adjusting, mine are still too low. I'm going to check it out sometime... sweet...

Yeah 27.5 inches. the Way the service manual tells u seems to complicated for me.

I moved my front bumper 5 ft from my garage door and set them to about 27.5 inches.

my driveway is slanted downwards so I know I'm probably an inch or two below a true 27.5 inches so I shouldn't blind anyone. =)

car is way more enjoyable to drive now that i can actually see.

i adjusted mine, i can see like day time, and haven't been flashed yet (by cars), following the 27.5 " rule.

its not that hard to find.

If you look from above the headlight, look in between the crack between the headlight the black plastic piece, you'll see a small silver gear with triangular teeth.

You need a foot long phillips screwdriver.

Turn it clockwise to adjust it higher, and counterclockwise to adjust it lower.

Just in case someone does a search and still can't find the hole...

(From an old PM I sent)

"It is not a definite hole...more like a shaft or opening that's squared shape like [ ]

Easiest way to find it is pop up the hood. Next to the left headlight you'll see a blue cap for the windshield washer fluid.
Right in between the blue cap and the headlight like there is a shaft/ hole that goes all the way down.

Use a flashlight or you won't see the gears to the leveler down there.

It should resemble a little something like this:

['''] With the top dots being the gears.

So remember between the LEFT headlight and blue windshield washer fluid cap. Once you find that one the other one won't be hard to find.

Turn the gears while the headlights are projected on a wall or garage door so you can get an idea of how much you're leveling the beam. These lights can point as far up as a two story building so watch how much you're turning.

It takes more than a few turns before you'll see the beam start to inch it's way so be patient."
