Screw N/A. I'm going FI

After losing to a modded grand prix GTP:icon22: , I realized that my N/A mods just aren't cutting it. I'm leaning towards the Greddy TT, and before I consider buying, I mainly wanna know if it's a good kit to start off with out of the box. as far as eas of use and not destroying the engine down the road.

First off, from reading past posts it seems as if the greddy tt cant just be installed and called good, i've heard the e-manage is no good and you need to buy an aftermarket fuel pump and a fuel return system and a bunch of other doodads. for the most part, i'm not building a drag car here, I just wanna know straight out of the box, can the GReddy TT be installed as is and have no problems down the road?

If or when I get the kit I will be selling my crawford headers, so if anybody's interested let me know.

That cant be answered... There are alot of factors, and with F.I. your playing a game of chance on a stock block. You could last a year, and you could last a day..

yeh you playing with big boys toys now.. Its not like NA, u gotta learn about tuning/turbos and other manly things.

Ed 718 Apr 19, 2007 08:57 PM

Search and read and do YOUR own research as to what kit fits best your needs. Eveyone is biased towards the kit they run and every kit has it's good points and bad......good luck

The search button is your friend, young Jedi. Just playing! There's alot to learn here. You can spend days reading. I just wish I could remember 1/4 of what I read.

GTP............1.835......7.696 @ 91.23.......11.980 @ 114.86.......3.8L(T) 15.5 psi

even with just a normally modded S/C they can run in the 12s.

20"makavelli Apr 20, 2007 07:27 PM

ive had my apstt system on for about a year now and it is still running as good as the first day i got it put on, i have never had a problem with it... i guess it all comes down to who you have tune and install the turbo system on your car!! but like other people say it is a big chance it could blow the first day you get it or it can last as long as your car does!!! but all i can say is once your turbo is on you will LOVE It

Since everyone is biased towards the kit they run you should get a Z33Art Supercharger kit! Lol. JK.

The Greddy kit is a great kit and there are a ton of people running them but regardless of what kit you get I would suggest you get it dyno tuned with Air/Fuel readings also. That is a must with these cars. I would also suggest that you take it to someone who knows how to tune the Z specifically. They will just have a better understanding of what to look out for.

Good luck on your journey into the world of FI. Make sure you read up as much as possible or you may end up on the short road to a blown motor like many including myself have been.

Knowledge is your best friend when it comes to boosting these cars.

Thanks for actually answering the question, and yes the Air/fuel will get retuned and I'll have it dynoed also just to make sure everything is set to par. I will make sure i do it right the first time.

:icon22: you're dumb, your completely missing the point

black06z Apr 22, 2007 01:42 AM

I heard a lot of good things on the Greddy TT, coming from experienced Tuners/Mechanics who work on turbo cars on a daily basis. One of them said its the kit he recommends for the Z.

abui01 Apr 22, 2007 12:51 PM

Any kit + no research = FI FTB!!! (For The Boom)

What point? You got owned by a car that makes more power than yours so now you want boost to beat them, he was telling you they arent the only ones that can throw a lil something under the hood. :D

I have a kit for sale, pm me for details.

Great deal.

hr2burn Apr 22, 2007 03:29 PM

Here's MY OPINION...
I have stock internals so I know 420rwhp is about my goal. Twins to ME and my situation required too much modding, too much $$ and since the stock internals, it seemed overkill.
Anyway I went with the TN kit and went from 231RWHP to 385RWHP. After the UTEC and some good tuning, I should be at my goal. Can I have the TN kit go over my goal, sure but this is my daily driver. I don't wanna risk blowing something.
I'll tell ya, all things considered, I love the choice I made.
Sean
