Whats all this talk about needing 15 grand? The tech stated that no internals require upgrading. The kit is designed to bolt onto a stock motor. Here is a link to the kit http://www.modacar.com/products/Niss...induction.html

after tax OTD w/labor would put me at 7-8 grand. Please give me some insight, thanks.

With or without FMIC? Do they tune it for you too for that price? Cause you won't make it down the street with the stock Greddy tune. You plan on keeping the stock clutch and exhaust as well I take it?

if they are quoting 1800 for a greddy tt setup i would say thats about right. I know ST go in for around a grand

That is just the price of the turbo kit..no intercooler. Any shop that simply bolts on a Greddy TT kit without anything extra, and sends them on their way...its being incredible reckless. The engine will go boom very very quickly. Statements like this, tell me this shop has zero experience with FI on the VQ35.

The greddy kit comes w/FMIC. I already have the greddy evo II exhaust, and the oem clutch has 18k miles on it. I plan to upgrade to a stage II once it starts slipping, but for now it'll do. How much is tuning?

You'll need @ least a Utec or something to tune the car with as the Emanage blue sucks.

The clutch won't last long at all with the twins.

Doesn't matter how much tuning is... it's a necessity if you want your engine to last. Ditch the emanage and get either UTEC or FCON.

the Greddy Kit does not come with the FMIC. The price on that site does not included it.

This is the price w/ the intercooler. Modacar is a highly renowned shop in Northern California for their dynajet and tuning of evo's, sti's, and z's. Running 6 psi is extremely low and safe, therefore the tech said internals should be safe.

The internals will be safe with proper engine management and a tune.

i think what these guys that actually have experiece is trying to tell you is to do it right the first time. You can't say it will run safe since you are putting force induction on the motor. Anything can go at anytime. Lets say if you put everything one, runs fine but couple thousand miles down the road, something messes up, you have to do the internals. Why not just do it now to be safe.

This is the reason why i'm still saving up. Save yourself the headache. You can't really do it cheap and want the results you want. You don't even have an upgraded clutch yet so that already tells me you are not ready for it.

the fmic is 1329.00, i guess its not included. I forgot to ask how much a tune is. At the absolute max I would spend 9 grand for guages and a tune, nothing close to 15 grand.

15 grand includes an good FI rated clutch, FI exhaust (your evo II is very restrictive, trust me), a blow-off valve, 600-800 for a good tune, 1000 or so for a GOOD EMS. Alot of guys also like to upgrade to a return fuel system as well and run larger injectors than the stock greddy's. It all adds up but it's more than worth it. Oh, don't forget boost and wideband 02 gauges. Plus extra labor to install said extra items :)

those are good prices, now add install and gauges to say a stage one or two package and that is a realistic quote and that is without an upgraded clutch/flywheel, tune

thx for you're info. Im not looking to upgrade to 500+ horses, but i guess to stay on the safe side, upgrading components would be a good idea. The tech stated that greddys are known for their reliablity, but i suppose you guys w/ FI have more true life experience.
