I leave Orlando in three weeks. I'll probably be in Atlanta for a weekend in September and I'll try to stop by then.

I'll be running against you next year in the Redline series. So watch out. I'm comming for for you, Scott, and Pete! 3 Z's/G's in the top 3?

Nice showing!

Congrats on your accomplishment Sharif!

JAM3Z 07-28-2008 06:52 PM

Definitely awesome too see that some of the cars on this site get tracked, and with some success I might add :).

taurran 07-28-2008 06:57 PM

I like how a Porsche GT3 finished behind three Nissans in the modified class. Fail. :icon17:

GTM 07-28-2008 07:03 PM

Very nice Sharif! I can't wait to get the EVO back on the track, too bad you are so far away.

That car is never going to be able to compete with a boosted Z in a straight line.

Sharif it was good to see you and the car and not having to drive all the way to Atlanta. Your car was noticeably faster around the track. Represent!

craigo'sznprgrs 07-28-2008 07:37 PM

I forgot how nice that car was. Congrats, with an extra 100 whp, 1st is easily achievable!

I rode in his 997 Turbo a few weeks back at a Porsche get together. It was such a refined car; unreal grip, no turbo spool noise, and no BOV sound. It is a tremendously well engineered car.

The GT3 is also a sick car, but I don't think it'd have the beans to keep up with a 550whp Z in a straight line. In the corners it'd be a different story (especially with those ceramic brakes), but on the straights, the Z would wax it.

GTM 07-28-2008 08:31 PM

You guys better hope he doesn't mod his 997, 500rwhp on a stock block on those cars is very common, also the spool of the variable vein turbo is amazing.

I say this all in jest. :) I have known Ron for over 3 years now...so a little ribbing is nothing unusual. The GT3, is an amazing car in the hands of a good driver. Arguably one of the fastest track cars in 100% OEM trim....even comes with the sticky Pilot Cups from the factory.

D350Z10 07-28-2008 08:50 PM

SICKNESS!!!!

Congrats Sharif, first time out and second place! See ya in August.

Not to mention the all-wheel drive and the factory over-boost burst.

THE ROADSTER 07-28-2008 09:12 PM

what size of rims do you race in ?

FrickU 07-28-2008 10:20 PM

Congratulations on the podiums!

So did you figure out the reason why Philthy's motor went kaput, possibly the build or tune?

Z looks great btw, I'm loving the rims. To bad I missed the event.

Oh, and what tires were you running in both classes? Because your times from modified to unlimited look almost identical.
