Where's the VQ35HR SC kit?
Vortech has manufactured extremely limited numbers of the VQ35HR supercharger kit (http://www.400zfrenzy.com/forum/showthread.php?p=64081) ; HKS has been dragging out the release of the 35th specs, and occasionally letting HR application rumors slip (http://hksusa.com/info/?id=3408); does anyone have any info on an HR supercharger kit? Even a single turbo kit would be nice...I just can't justify an $8,000+ mod for a TT kit, not to mention the internals that need to be fortified, costing an extra I-don't-want-to-know-how-much.
Any word on FI kits for the HR, excluding the ever-present TT kits? |
I want that as well. I don't see myself getting a Twin Turbo kit. Just seems too risky.

Even the new bigger HKS S/C, rumoured to be in the works will only be for the DE engines. Where did you see these other "slipped rumours"?:dunno: 3. The HR layout lends itself very well for a TT kit if going boost. Also, although long-term testing is really not out, the HR block seems to hold ~500 whp safe, while the DE more like ~400whp. If I had a HR engine and wanted to go boost, I'd opt for the GTM TT kit. My .002 |

Never mind  |
I've been looking around for info on possible single turbo kits in the future also. Someone needs to make one. The 350 is now getting into the price range where spending 8k+ for forced induction is absurd unless you plan to build the block or something in the future. When you can get HR z's with low mileage for 20k or less, there should be a cheaper option out there from someone eventually. If not, I will probably end up piecing my own kit together assuming i do get a z which seems likely at the moment.

IBTL.. Immediately...

Just out of curiousity, how much $ justified on a TT, a single Turbo kit or a S/C in your opinion?

it's going to be pretty difficult to find something in that price range for the HR that is going to be reliable, not sure there is anything out there for you.

Well from what I've seen on single turbo DE kits and s/c's, it was *around* $4,000; something that seems much more likely and reasonable for a $27,000 sports car that has a more powerful, super-high-tech-synchro-revving successor already available on the market.

I think people should be required to list their age when posting...

you can run up to 10-11 PSI safely on the stock HR engine and produce upwards of
500WHP as my car is an in example, but only time will tell how reliable the HR is when boosted stock. |

LOL :)

Haha some of these posts are def funny.
From everything i have seen and researched and heard directly from GTM themeselves this kit is def safe for the boost levels most of us would be pushing on a daily driver. The only truth i see here is that we just dont know how long the stock internals will hold for but like GTM said they're test car has seen 100+ dyno runs and still no problems and thats at boost levels of 14psi with power ratings close to 580whp if i remember correctly. I was going to go the super charger route but its just taking way too long to develop and for about the same cost or possibly more the super charger just isnt worth it. One week left until my Z is done. |
they needa bring one out
