Tell me what's wrong/what am I missing?

The main idea here is to run 450-475HP or so, maybe 500 at most. Here's what I had in mind:

Eagle rods

Wiseco pistons (no overbore)

ARP Headstuds

ARP Mainstuds

A decent Headgasket

Snow stage 2 meth kit

Anyone have any input on this? Am I missing something that would make it unsafe/unreliable at 450-475HP? Give me ideas, guys. I have the Powerlab GT35R kit already, and it will be going in soon. The only thing is that I don't have a huge budget for this.

Dude it looks like you have been here long enough to have seen some of the builds.

Search dammit.

Buddy, I've spent WEEKS searching every thread here, but I can't find anyone with similar mods to what I want to do, running the power I'm trying to do, so I needed to make a thread. I've found people with similar mods, but I want to know if I'm missing anything important or crucial before I go ripping things apart. No need to attack me, I'm just trying to do things right here.

Pistons/Rods/Fuel/EMS/Clutch that is all...

Rommy Mar 12, 2009 12:20 PM

*bump* anyone have any more opinions they'd like to share before I go spending a few grand on parts? :)

Rear coolant bypass...

Cass007 Mar 12, 2009 02:34 PM

Just a few ideas:

Nissan engine rebuild gasket kit
Pathfinder coolant mod
Rev-Up Oil Pump
NGK one step colder plugs
Upgraded Pulley - may not be necessary
Nismo low-temp thermostat
Block inspected and cleaned
Block redecked
Block Bored and Honed using a Torque Plate
Rotating assembly balanced
Crank magnafluxed and the journals micro-polished
ACL Race main bearings
Heads inspected and cleaned
Heads redecked

All may not be necessary, but if your tearing everything down you may as well built it right the first time. Also, if you are considering cams in the near future, get them done while the motor is out, the labor will be much less.

Every mod to keep the engine cool.

Jeremy@Altered Mar 13, 2009 06:55 AM

Less fuel and more timing is always the answer.

DING DING DING, we have a winner!

The most important part of a new FI build is being patient and not making quick decisions or trying to take short cuts. You will come up missing your goal and possibly loosing everything you put into the car and some.

Other than that, your good to go with Pistons/Rods/Fuel/EMS/Clutch/HeadGasket/ARP-bolts/Radiator/Fans/Gauges/TT-kit/Luck

im also doing a build... is the rev up oil pump REALLY necessary? or can i just use the non-rev up with less than 30k miles?? im also running water thru my turbos not oil...

I would skip the meth injection, just complicates things. At your power levels it won't make much of a difference. If going through a full build definitley buy 20 over pistons. No telling what the holes will be like on your motor and no telling how a stock bore aftermarket piston will match up. Get the pistons and have your machine shop bore accordingly
