Its been Proven that GTK flow better and also its much better option to be able to rebuild the turbo instead of throwing it out and buying a new one

If you use the turbo in it's proper operating range, with proper oil supply, drain, and crankcase ventilation, with an inlet filter and you have no engine shrapnel going through the turbine, you shouldn't have to rebuild a turbocharger.

I currently own 4 Garrett DBB GT series turbos and have had a total of 6. The two on my G have it pretty easy, the one on my truck sees 28psi daily and the one on my DSM gets the tar beat out of it with anti-lag 30+psi and the such. I haven't had one fail yet from something I didn't cause. I sent a piece of a valve guide through the turbine of a GT4294R and killed it, no turbo can be expected to hold up to that. I also have a local Garrett Performance distributor in PA so they are available to me on short notice if necessary.

I've never used a GTK but I'm sticking to the Garrett stuff.

Besides, I don't think I've ever seen steller performance from a GTK turbo, nor a compressor map published when doing a quick search.

with all the BS that turbonetics put together on their crappy kit, I don't think I'd ever buy anything turbonetics ever again.
the GTKs look nice, but you really should do a comparison between precision turbos and garretts. precisions are basically modded garretts though.

The anti-lag will eventually beat the bearings to death.....but anti-lag isn't necessarily part of the normal operation of the turbo's job......

+1 on this, the guys at Blouch said the exact same thing. They have a customer that street races with the anti-lag on and they will not gaurantee his turbos any longer because he burns them up on a regular basis. The anti-lag just dumps raw fule into the system as I understand it, correct?? That being said, it does work, and will help you win a race form time to time.

Forget the Turbo Kits of turbonetics, but there new range of turbo's are awesome!! compared to the garrett ones, We have tested a few and there power rating is very concervative, we got 9XX hp out of a GTK-850 on the m3 6cyl,

Yep; thats what I have heard by word of mouth. Turbonetics still needs to create the longevity research of their turbo's. Honeywell (Garrett) been around for several years.

So do you work for turbonetics? Or are you just paid to push their products?

the downside to the Garrett ball bearing GTs is that they are not rebuildable, from what I understand. that's a real bummer! ..........but they still probably last longer than a turbonetics turbo. :-)

LOL no i dont work for Turbonetics I just have my opinion on there new series of turbo's and ill say it again there KICK ARSE over garretts, im in Australia all we ever use are garretts, but now there seems to be a great alternative, plus im sick of throwing out turbo's :)

My anti-lag isn't as violent as some of those vids. I have it set to fix the timing at 10* ATDC and add no fuel, this, and the 2-step set a few hundred RPM later allow me to leave the line at 30psi on a 2.0L 4 cylinder with a 74mm turbo. It turns all 4 tires into smoke through first gear, I'd rather spin than bog.

Garrett has an exchange/core program for the ball bearing GT stuff so you can get a replacement CHRA for a good price, though I think it's only available on certain part numbers, Blouch is one of the few Performance Distributors and I'm sure they would be happy to help.

I have taken apart my 42R that I fragged, and a GT2871R. The later of the two is sitting here on my desk in pieces, as easy as they come apart, I don't understand why they are deemed not rebuildable.

No rebuild kits available thats why, Garrett will not provide parts for rebuild, its more cost affective for them to sell ya a new one than fix a fooked one :)

I would like some comments of people who have used both and can compare,

Turbonetics might not have not done the best when it came to turbo kits, they should stick to making turbo's :) atleast there doing that well, very well and have always have IMO

And who needs turbo kits anyway we in OZ love custom turbo setups :)
