offset Q's with 15mm spacers
Hi guys, I have a 2004 g35 sedan lowered on Tein basics and Eibach 15mm spacers with stock 17in sport wheels. I dont completely understand offsets and wider rims, with the use of spacers as well
I want to keep my 15mm spacers, and either get 17x8 and 17x9 rims or 18x8 and 18x9 rims. The stock rims are 17x7 +45, essentially +30 now(with the spacers). The wheels sit approx 5-7mm shy of being flush with the fenders, and I dont plan on rolling or pulling the rears. My rear camber is -2.5 right now. What would be the proper offset for the suggested rim size above without losing my spacers? Would something like 17x8 +40mm be correct for the front and 17x9 +35 for the rears? I just cant comprehend if I need a higher offset wheel to compensate for the spacer, or if that will "suck" the wheel in too far and not sit flush. I have not decided on wheels yet, just gathering knowledge to make the best choice I can My friend has a s2000 just bought advan rg2 17x7.5+48 and 17x8+50, Im going to try them on my car in a couple months to see how they fit(some sort of guide for me) Thanks for the help!! |
Never heard of anyone buying wheels with the intent of keeping spacers. Why not buy wheels that fit properly? What are you trying to achieve?

this is the prime time to buy wheels that dont require it... -J You guys are right but honestly I had no intents of getting wheels. When I lowered it, I know it would be ugly tucked so I bought the spacers as well. But recently, decent looking wheels and the thought of having them, have been running in my mind a lot lately. I didn't have the $$ nor wanted rims, still don't to be true. As for the spacers, I have extended studs as well. And I don't want to run open-ended lug nuts. I have a special made wheel-lock and oem lug nuts right now. I guess I could get new wheels, take out the spacer and leave the studs, but I'm not a fan of open-ended lug nuts nor have good exprience with them. I had a set on my NA built integra gsr and a couple rusted/froze and broke the studs. I won't be getting wheels until next year after saving for alittle bit Granted my G is in a very different class and I don't drive it in the winter.... |
From what I've been seeing, running spacers and wheels seems to becoming more popular. I just read a thread on a red G coupe with 20s installing +25/+30mm spacers...

it is possible to buy wheels that have a proper offset and dont even require spacers.... |
Wheel studs are cheap and easily changed - not that you'd want to do it often. Your longer wheel studs and spacers should not limit wheel choice.
