** Don't Buy Ichiba Test Pipes!!

So i installed my test pipes yesterday, drove around for a while and something wasn't sounding right.. i put the car on ramps, left it running and air was pouring out of this slit in the manufacture weld line..

the install was such a pain in the ass, but it looks like i'm gonna have to take them off to return them.

here is a picture of the fault line.

SUCKS! i thought since they were re-designed they would have made there product better!

Stay away if i was you.

how much did you pay for them?

I recommend berk products, ive own TP's and HFC's and the fitment/quality is flawless

the R&D they do for some of these lower level companies like Ichiba and Megan, it's like they hired a chimp!

my Megan test pipes once installed, the way the sensor plug thingies were angled, instead of angling at a 90 degrees toward one another they angled more towards the ground basically making it the lowest point of my car !!
and when you're slammed that's a major issue

also i will never buy ANY ichiba product again, have their front camber arms, not only did the paint flake off now i see rust, but the bushings are already problematic only after a few months..

thanks for the post OP, we need to bring more attention to shitty products out here being sold to us, I know the forum bosses like to turn a blind eye to vendors on this issue, because this stuff sells a lot more than all the other expensive **** therefore paying the bills in general..
but we all need to be aware what's at least standard quality and which companies produce products below standard quality like in this case you posted

Tell me about it man, the fitment and stuff was alright, and the 02's were at the right angle, but still un-usable due to the crack.. just figured i would get my problem out there so people can see you really get what you pay for ($185) i'll be looking at Berk here shortly after i return these.

What don't you like about Berk?
I'm curious to know.
I've been planning on buying these sometime soon.

jennifhanlon Oct 17, 2012 06:54 PM

Pengu Oct 17, 2012 06:56 PM

I bought their Y-pipe cuz I need something ASAP when I got my AP exhaust and it cracked within the week. I think I still have it.

I don't usually play the role of a GPO (Grammar Police Officer); but, when I do, I use funny pictures :D

That sucks. Were you not able to get your money back? I would think that any manufacturer would cover a defect that appears that early... :dunno:

ZS14RR Oct 17, 2012 10:52 PM

Ichiba nothing.

ImWeeZzel Oct 18, 2012 04:50 AM

500+ for art pipes? F that, a nice exhaust runs about 1k, I wouldn't even dump half the funds on to test pipes...those are crack prices.... I went with berks because the fitment, price, quality was good.
