Stay away from the Flowmasters. An exhaust system is just that--A SYSTEM.
When start cutting and adding to your present system, you really don't know how its gonna turn out.By your post, looks like you are more interested in having a loud exhaust than one that gives you better performance AND sounds good.
Its really the old,"you get what you pay for" deal.
Save up your bucks and buy a good system.

I think you need the Motordyne Shockwave TDX2. It's as good as it'll get exhaust-wise for a VQ35. Go big or go home.

Yeah I don't care a whole lot about power.. Just the sound.. Every review I've read about people putting a flowmaster muffler on, they love it. I don't see a reason for me not to try it and if I don't like it, buy a cat-back system. Might go tomorrow. I'll post up a video if I do.

That's what my modified stock muffler sounds like. I had a shop remove the internals and just weld in straight pipes inside the stock muffler.

Sounds just like this, only has a note/tune between about 4000 and 5000

Also booms.

This site gets annoying with people like the OP... Ask for stupid, self explanatory help from the forum community. Then convince themselves over and over that, what they can afford is the best out (flowmaster Really?!?!). Then argue with everyone who is actually helping and criticizing for a good reason.... Your Z is being cheaply modded.... I see the plasti dip wheels!!!

Well I kind of decided against it being super loud because I didn't want it to get annoying since it's my daily. A lot of people make fun of flowmaster but it has a tone that a lot of people like.
My wheels aren't plasti dipped either. The texture of plasti dip is cheap looking. My friend has his 335i done that way. So I went with a low gloss engine enamel then a gloss red for the lip.
Yes my car is cheaply modified but I get a lot of compliments.

Deleting the resonator on the mid-pipe sounds meaner than that...

If the raspy sound is your thing, then you're right.
