Directional's sometimes a click sometimes are silent?

I've noticed that sometimes my directional's are totally silent and most of the time they make a regular clicking sound, has anyone else experienced this? I don't think the sound is optional at least I can't find that anywhere.

Mine have done this since day one. The "click" is actually digitally generated along with the "keys in ignition" buzzer via a little speaker in the gauge cluster. Sometimes when I pull the key out it screams like a banshee until I re-insert the key and turn it to ACC.

I'm afraid that to fix this would require major surgery on the gauge cluster and possibly replacement. Getting a new cluster entails your mileage going back to zero and a "sticker of shame" that let's everyone know as such. Extremely weary people might see that as a blemish on a Car Fax report.

Yes yesterday I believe I heard the same screaming sound that you're talking about like a weird alarm sound but not that loud. The the only way I was able to stop it was to turn the key on and off also, I am also hesitant on bringing it in for service because of possibly roughing up the dashboard. I guess I can live with it.

I have experienced the same. Should we ignore it?

I've noticed the same thing on mine as well. Also, my directionals don't turn off after making softer turns. I takes a much harder turn to get them to turn off. much more than any other car I've owned. This combined with the occassional lack off the clicking sound has let me to drive around like an idiot with my blinker flashing.

Maybe the amount that you have to turn the wheel before the directional goes off may have to do with the steering ratio on theZ like turning the wheel little bit takes you a long way so it may just seem like a lot , not sure. When I go for my first oil change I will ask the technician.
