I came out of work today, popped my trunk, put my backpack in, and shut the lid - I didn't even notice it didn't latch. As I drive away I noticed it bounce a little and the red "door open" light in the dash was was on. Pulled over and it WON'T LATCH. I played with the latch itself, the key fob, and the outside and inside releases - nothing effects it, it just won't latch.

Anyone?

 

I have the same problem now. I took the covers off around the latch to see if I can get a better look. Im just out of warranty . Will have to take it apart myself! Anyone else with this experience?

 

I ended up having the trunk actuator replaced - basically it was broken. The part is not cheap - fortunately my dealer got Nissan to take care of it for "goodwill", as I was waaay out of warranty. Good luck.
