Something's wrong with my clutch.

Hey guys,

I was driving my 2007 350Z all day today, and suddenly something happened to the clutch. I pushed it in to change gears, and it wouldn't come back naturally to engage the transmission. I had to take my right foot and pry it back up to change into neutral. By then, I just pulled over to the side of the road, and had a tow truck come pick me up.

Any ideas what's wrong, hopefully it's something simple I can replace.

if its an 07 ...its under warranty.. get nissan to fix it..I would check clutch line to see if that was the issue. The only time thats happened to me is when I swapped my fluid/clutch line..so check that too..

Thanks so much DavesZ3#

My VIN number happens to lie right in that range.

The problem is the car is a salvage title... I don't know if I would qualify.

Nope, you're (probably) screwed.

From the Warranty manual...

WHAT IS NOT COVERED
DAMAGE, FAILURES OR CORROSION DUE TO
ACCIDENTS, MISUSE OR ALTERATIONS
This warranty does not cover damage, failures or corrosion
resulting from:
...
SALVAGE TITLE
This limited warranty does not apply to any vehicle, and is
rendered void if the vehicle is (or ever has been) issued a
“salvage” or similar title under any state’s law; or has ever been
determined to be a “total loss” or equivalent by any insurance
company, such as by payment of a cash payment of claim in lieu
of repairs because of a determination that the cost of repairs
exceeded the actual cash value of the vehicle.
That exemption deals with warranty. The slave cylinder is a recall and would be applied even out of warranty. Not sure if it applies to Salvage titled cars.

same thing happened to my brother 07 z take it to the dealer you be fine.

cheshirecat79 Nov 25, 2009 04:07 AM

Just take it in to the dealer. Don't mention that it's a salvage. See what happens.

Just took it to the dealer, didn't mention the salvage.
