Just drove through a lake
I'm exaggerating of course, but at my job, the sides of the parking lot droop down, and I probably should have parked on the other side of the lot before a major rain storm. I didn't want to do it but I treaded water. The water definitely went up to the Z's body. I drove slowly through it, and had no problems driving home but I want to know if I should do anything immediately in terms of maintenance to prevent rust, damage to the exhaust, engine compartment etc. Thanks fellow Z owners.

you'll be fine, I drove through 3' of water in my G35 before. and drove through 14" of water with my turbo sitting under the car... I did stall that time. but disconnected the IC pipe before the MAF and drove it back home

BTW My area floods a lot, any heavy rain storm and to get home i have to drive through 6-10" of water half a block

i parked my z on the corner at my gfs house today. i could look out the window n check up on it. when we took her car to go to the mall i noticed the water was grill high. i **** myself and moved the car. nothing wet inside. didnt stall no weird sounds/lights. youll be fine

where in ny are you? i live 2 blocks to the beach in staten island we had 3 feet of water on the next block over when the hurricane came. And the main street had 4.5 feet of water. My x5 took it like a champ tho

Yep. Don't stress the small stuff. There are people who drive these things in much harsher climates through much worse things all the time. Part of the commitment of actually choosing to drive your car, as a vehicle, means that things like this will happen. It just means that your car is less likely to end up on Barrett Jackson in 40+ years trying to fetch 6 figures and are you really that concerned about that?

I don't think I can wakeboard through that

What I drove through today was much worse than Friday. One puddle put me underwater for a second. I guess the lesson to be learned is anything can happen to the car as long as I drive it, so I shouldn't worry about small things.

Well I didn't have a camera crew with me so you won't see a picture of the Z in the water. However, I took this picture of the lot before my successful attempt.
