Driver's Window Help

2003 350z

My windows have always worked fine, never a problem, then a few days ago, Nothing. It also does not move when you open the door. No up, No Down. Passanger is fine.

Anything Simple?

Thanks,

TimRod

Window motor probably crapped the bed. You can try the reset procedure before paying for a new motor but it's likely you will need a new one anyhow.

I agree with our Moderator. You are likely looking at a motor replacement.

A search will show you how to clean the motor and extend its life. I did this, but it was a short term fix. I replaced the motor after the second failure, and this appears to be a long term fix.

The passenger window motor lasts much longer unless you always have a rider opening and closing the door.

It's funny that the passenger side window motor failed on my '08 with 50K miles, and that door has barely been opened since the car was new, and here in Florida I rarely roll down the windows. My wife likes us to drive her TL-S whenever we go out, so she's been in my Z maybe 5 times. The driver's window is still fine, now at 55K, and it's my daily car.

I did the window motor clean method 18 months ago, good ever since on dd.
Search "window", gl

Hmm...I have been having this issue with my '03 on the drivers side as well. It wont go slightly down when I open the door and it just stays frozen the whole time and when I roll the window down and roll it back up, it goes back down halfway :dunno: I am going to try the reset procedure and if all fails then I will have to get a new motor.

Window problem 2003 350Z

The driver side window on ny 2003 350Z works intermittently. Symptoms window does not move up when door is closed. Window does not roll down. However, if I open the door and push down on the window then operate the window switch the window rolls down. It will not go back unless I push down on the window again. If the motor is bad why does it work at all? Could the reset procedure fix this issue? Also, how difficult is it to take off the door panel? Are any special tools required? Any assistance is appreciated.
