Hi,

So who else is going, last event there was only one other Z! how weak is that!

Its 40 bucks to enter if you do not have an SCCA licence and only 25 bucks if you are already an SCCA member.

stock or not, bring your car out!

LOCATION:
PENNINGTON FIELD of hwy 183 and central dr going into FT. Worth.

This is a great location for spectators and a really good first time out track! NO poles, great parking, good lunch spots not to far, plus this location has a really nice raised embankment where all the spectators sit back and watch the racing from a slightly raised view point! makes this location awesome!

I have a White BSP Z and will be parking it next to the ridge with a TEXAS A&M CANOPY! come by and say hi..

JUST to fill everyone in....Z-u-later is talking about this situation that was a close call back in SA!

BUT DON'T BE SCARED! THIS COURSE AT PENNINGTON FIELD HAS NO POLES!

Wow, I can't believe you saved those pics! Yeah, the only thing that saved Jason was the cone between his Z and the pole. He must have spun at least 50 yards . . . you can see his skid marks on the 2nd picture.

I was up next and I saw the whole thing . . . let's just say I was nervous when I drove the course after Jason.

Man I'd love to go, it'd be my first time autox'n. But I'm fairly busy this weekend. I might go if I have time Sunday. Is everybody going to be meeting up/rolling up there together? I always wanted to give it a try, but I'd feel embarassed being a nub. Would love to learn though. They give you introduction, show you how it's done first etc/tutorial?

YES!

They have a beginners walk through where you walk the course with a few advanced drivers and they explain some pointers!

its not hard at all! WE can plan my runs before yours to where you can ride with me and really get a feel for it in my car as a passenger then you can do it in yours!

if at all at least show up and ride with me! see if you like it and you can make the next event, but missing this one would really bite - like i mentioned before this is a great first timer course location!!!

I would be down for meeting up in the morning prior to going out there but it would be early!! i plan on being AT the course at 7 am to set up my A&M canopy and switch to my R-compounds!

I say bring your car, enter and you WONT regret it!

ANYONE ELSE! C-MON WHERE IS THAT HUGE DFW CROUD I ALWAYS SEE POSTING ON HERE!

Each autocross club has a Novice class for newbs. The main thing about autocross is just to go out there and have fun if you're new to the sport. You'll learn a lot about what your Z can handle and more importantly, you will learn more about yourself as a driver. Autocross is safe, with a car going thru the course every 20-30 seconds so there's no chance of cars bumping into each other.

JasonZ-YA Jun 12, 2008 04:29 AM

Yes, he's right! at this particular course its literally one car on the course at a time.

Jason - I can't believe you have to beg DFW owners to come join you for autocross. Bunch of wimps . . . :icon38:

I'm attending a DE with the Porsche Club of America tomorrow at the Harris Hill Road track in San Marcos. We also have Time Trials in the afternoon -- I'll be curious to see what my times are on the almost two-mile course.

Should be a fun day with almost 50 cars registered -- three run groups of about 15-16 cars each. Obviously, mostly Porsches, a few Z06s and a bunch of freakin' turbo Miatas. I'm looking forward to smokin' a few of them tomorrow -- we shall see. :icon38:

I gotta go prep the Z this afternoon after I get off work.

JasonZ-YA Jun 13, 2008 11:25 AM

SWEET!

i think one day im gonna have to drive down there and go to that course with you!

sounds awesome.
