Capital Driving Club is holding a single day, Monday, April 28th on the Shenandoah Circuit at Summit Point, WV. $200 for the day. I hear the list has a lot of S2000's.

Mike, mdracer76 - You said you'd be down for this. Who else is in?

Before you all start asking- this is what you'll need:

* SA2000 rated helmet or better
* Fresh brake fluid
* Brake pads that have at least 50% life
* Sunblock

That's it. If you've never been out on track before you won't need fancy pads, sticky tires, adjustable swaybars or expensive coilovers. YOu won't need any of that. Those items won't help you in the least. This is high performance driving in a safe learning environment. You want to be a better driver? This is the first step. Join us.

Snacks and a bagged lunch if you don't like track food. (I don't.. yuck)

Inspect your tires for nails, or cuts prior to your HPDE.

Patience, and a willingness to unlearn your bad habits.

Does this count as a driver school if you wanted to use this as one of your two required driving schools for the SCCA regional license?

How soon do you need to know, how many spots?

I am pretty sure I will be able to go, but I've got some stuff going on.

imma see what i can do bout it being a monday... but i could prob possible get off.... the shop is always slow on mondays... by then ill have coilovers on..

do we just pack our own tools and whatnot/ or do they have pits there that lend tools?

A lot of attendees will have their own tools on hand that I'm sure they'll be willing to lend out if needed.

Other than the basic tools like a lugnut wrench you should be fine. This is a learning environment -- not necessarily a test'n'tune for your car. So if you've never been out on track before I wouldn't even consider trying to make adjustments other than say maybe tire pressure.


Mike - Yes, you can bring your own snacks and water however I believe water will be provided and since this is on the Shenandoah Circuit they have a snack bar there that opens for lunch with burgers, bbq, hot dogs, etc.

You will have to have your car inspected by tech inspection. They will be looking for the obvious things like wheel bearings, damaged tires, low pads, brake lights being out and battery not being secure.

Yea.. I have done BSR's in the past... that how I know the track food is poo poo :)

I'd still recommend performing these inspections before the BSR, so you wont have any surprises at tech, that would prevent you from running. I. also, did not realize that this was on a monday. and will have to clear up some work in order to attend.

This may seem silly, but what about helmets? I don't want to go buy a helmet just for this one event...

And the tech inspection is done beforehand at the track or by a tech at a shop in your area? Forgive my noob track questions :)

I'd do it yourself, or have Dave give the car a once over. If you've got stale brake fluid, it wont hurt to flush that out, and give a look over. Thats what I do with my Z before any track day.

Your car will be tech'ed there as well. If something is found to be 'un-safe' you will not be able to participate. so.. in my book, its better to be safe than sorry .. so inspect your Z yourself before you take it to the track :)

As for the helmets, chicks dig them :)

so will a motorcyle helmet work?

Seems a lil costly (ie, not a very special price), esp if you have to take off work Monday. Do they still do FATT? (Friday at the Track?)

FATT's are the same price if not a hair more.

I guess this would be called a MATT lol.

Ill be there, but on the main circuit and not in the z.
