Hill's Garage Dyno Tune 5-29-2010
Hey, just wanted to put a plug in for Frank (not Frank Hill) the tuner at Hill's Garage. He used the UpRev software on my Z and did a tune on my car Saturday. Man what a difference in the way the car drives and behaves. My Z is an automatic but I like to track the car. Before the tune, the car would really lay down when shifting from 2nd to 3rd. At about 4500 rpm it would catch its breath and start pulling like I felt it should. Not a good thing for road courses. I told Frank from Tuning Techniques this and he tuned my car accordingly. He spent 2 hours tuning my car for best power and torque where I needed it most. This guy does not do the typical 3 pulls and done tune most do on NA cars. He takes his time and really does a great job. I picked up about 15 whp and the cost was even with other shops I've seen who do the quickie tune. The car is a lot more drivable now with a very even torque and HP curve. I can lug around in 3rd gear much more easily now. Also, the tuner can arrange to go to the track with me to tune on site under real track conditions. Now that's pretty slick although way beyond anything I need at this time.
The dyno and tune day at Hill's was great on Saturday. Met some nice new friends there and got to see some pretty sick Zs and Gs (and a couple GT-Rs to boot). Hill's now has the total package from in house engine builds and FI install to custom dyno tuning. I am very impressed with Frank H and Frank the tuner. Anyone considering getting a tune in the area should definitely give them some serious consideration. You won't be disappointed and you will get your money's worth! Jeez, how many shops tell you if you cnange something and just need a touch up on the tune, it is included in the price? NOT MANY from my experience!

Gator your car sounded really good up there. I cant agree more! I had another shop tune it before and once Frank (Tuner) did his magic the car not only picked up HP and ft-lbs but it is a lot more crisp. He takes his time to make the car run out in all rpm's and not just trying to hit the highest hp numbers. Plus he is very freindly and will answer your questions.
Gator Im glad he was able to get that all out. It was nice talking with you again. Robert

It was only Frank, Frank, and myself there at this point.

Thanks, I wish I could have made it for the dyno day but had to do the family thing instead. Check out a few of the posts from today here. Not sure what the problem is. It hit 378whp at 5psi. Hopefully everything gets sorted out sometime next week.
. Good luck with everything. Robert

Def not a bad thing. I'm pretty happy with the power it made at 5psi trust me. I didn't intend to make it seem like its a bad thing.
