Snow tires won't really help you too much if there's 5-7+ inches of snow on the ground..Z sits too low. I honestly don't drive my car if there's going to be more than 3 inches in the forecast..and even then it's kinda difficult.
One word....blizzacks as i drove my then DD G in the back to back blizzards we had awhile back and my frt end was a snow plow as it ony sits 2" off the ground.
A good set of tires, throttle control ( this is key) and gentle inputs on the steering wheel. Keep your momentum up when approaching a hill. Most of all stay home when possible..
Got around three to five inches around here last night. Decided to clean off the Z and take it around the block to see how much "fun" it would be......yeahhhh I'm just staying in today.
Got only maybe an inch here. Not knowing it was going to snow, I had to drive the Z several miles home on summer only tires. Never will I ever do that again. Summer tires + snow = sled.

This. The brakes that usually make the car stop, now inexplicably make the car list somewhat to the left at the same speed you were previously traveling.

Never understood why people who live in a climate like ours even waste money on Summer tires. I run AS all year round after spinning out twice on the OEM Potenzas. You couldn't get me to put anything else on that car at this point.

Because they are ricers:
You need a set of dedicated:
- Track tires
- Regular summer (dry) cruising tires
- Cold weather (dry) tires
- Rain tires
- Snow tires

The only reason I have summer tires is that is what the dealer put on there before I bought it. If it had been my choice it would have been all season. And at this point I'd just rather not drive it in the snow/ice rather than buy a new set of tires + wheels for it.
