Kevin's VQ35DE NA Build Epilogue..
Well everyone saw our results from running a standalone setup with the ProEFI Pro 48 ECU. Putting down 299WHP with only 261 Deg. C2 Cams! Well this is the epilogue.
We ran 525CC injectors with our standalone setup to achieve the 299whp on the C2s and now we've added the final touch to the build. We are running Jenvey Individual Throttle Bodies, using one of their race setups. In collaboration with Emerald Performance we acquired one of their ITB kits and applied it to our high compression build. The tuning was accomplished by Errol at TPS in West Palm Beach with our Pro EFI drive by cable configuration (PRO 48 ECU) The results... take a look. Current Setup: Short Block : Wiseco 96MM (.020 over) 11:1 High Comp Pistons Eagle H Beam Rods and ARP Rod Bolts ACL Thrust Washers/ACL Rod Race Bearings/ACL Main Race Bearing Set 350z HR Head Gaskets ARP L19 Head Studs and ARP Main Studs Heads : JWT C-2 Cams and JWT Valve Springs/Retainers Headwork = Full port job maximizing flow M2 Serdi Valve Job - 3 angle cut Stock - 188.8 @ .200" 281.2 @ .500" Ported - 228.9 @ .200" 318.7 @ .500" Tuning : Full standalone, Pro EFI - Pro 48 ECU (not piggybacking on the stock maxima ecu) Misc : JWT Flywheel NGK Iridium Spark Plugs Walbro 190 Fuel Pump JWT Clutch Intake : Jenvery Individual Throttle Body Setup. Before : 299WHP and 240 Torque After : 315 WHP and 268 Torque on top of a huge amount of HP added underneath the curver. Check out our video. I will post other videos as youtube is slow to upload showing the build and the consistant 313WHP over and over again. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnUs701JPtY We've added an additional 45-50WHP between 6000-8000RPM. This is raw power under the curve and about 30ft lbs of torque as well. All as a result of the ITB kit. Keep in mind this is only a taste of our setup as these are only 261 cams! More fine tuning to come! This setup rips through the gears. Enjoy the videos! Subsribe as I will continue to upload more. The next saga will be track times. :p This build is on track to post highest NA HP B15 Sentra track times and highest dynoed HP as well. Records will be broken and we're just getting started. |
Very nice!

Thanks man, this thing hauls ass.
|
How's the fitment with the hood and all. It'd be very cool to see how it looks inside the car.
|
Just wait, this youtube video is still uploading to see how they look. And for hood fitting, we are adding a sleak little hood scoop so it'll clear. That about wraps it up.
|
Subscribed. Very interesting...
|
Have you figured an estimated cost invested in this project?

The NA build costs around 12K, motor, machine work, the whole thing. Tuning Standalone, ITB. Excluding the VQ and the swap stuff since I had that already in there from 3 years ago. That was a seperate costs back then. Pretty sweet deal, car should be thrown into the 11s.
Here is the video, other clip doesn't have a shot of the ITB in it, and these videos can both be seen in 1080p. Here ya go, this is what one of the fastest and highest NA VQ in the USA looks like. And we're still just getting started... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hp3uOPEwvuk |

nice, congrats!

1st time i saw itb for the vq looks nice....Quick question though considering the cost to output ratio is so tremendously unbalanced when staying n/a with the vq do you regret sinking so much money into it? For instance for the same money you could of had a built motor, TT with very stout numbers and also very reliable. Im not knocking by any means just curious once you added up the cost do you regret going the n/a route
|
Thanks man. Time for some track time so as I get more time.

So to answer your question, nope don't regret and glad to show off new options to the VQ. Cars are a waste of money either way you go haha. Oh and I did edit the post it was around 12k not 15. |
Last video that show the setup in the daytime light vs night. Got a lota videos showing 310-315WHP on the dyno so its solid even when the engine was warm.

Some of this stuff is better than porn!
NICE WORK! Keep it up, maybe more people will show interest in ITBs and more budget minded options will come about. |

Check it out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REOVkFz5qHc |
Looking good, those are pretty good gains with that. I need to start working on my engine, need to at least do a tuneup first.
