NISMO # plate

The dealer scratched the hell out of mine and am having it replaced by them. What have fellow NISMO owners done to help prevent any further scratches on the plate? Anyone put clear vinyl or anything over it? Ideas?

So they never did replace it?

It took forever to get it in stock. They took my original one and just waiting for them to install it tomorrow. Now I just wonder how to protect this brand new plate from any scratches.

Easy, keep anything abrasive off the plaque.

Thanks for pointing out the obvious. But seriously, anybody do anything to prevent scratching?

There isn't too much that can be done. Unfortunately, the plate is easily scratched and in an area prone to constant contact. It's a bad location for a number plate. Avoid wearing watches on that side or anything abrasive. You could take off the plate and store it elsewhere and cap it off.

I would just put clear vinyl over it..

I ordered some 3m clear bra material and plan to put that over mine when I pull it out of storage.

Just use the same stuff you use for smartphone screens. No brainer! That is what I had planned to do with mine, only to find out my # plate still has the factory protector still in perfect condition :icon38:. I see no need to mess it.

Rich.
