GF's Birthday Coming Up: Need Suggestions Por Favor...

Well, I'll be celebrating my GF's birthday the weekend of Oct. 1st/2nd & I'm not sure what to do . Any suggestions?

Take her to Carmel for dinner at Casanova's. Drive through pebble beach's 17 mile drive (nice coast view and $$ houses)

Thanks but I took her there already & did pretty much the same thing last year.

Here's some quick notes:
[1] Very light drinker.
[2] Loves Japanese Food but open to whatever so long as it's not oily.
[3] Down to do crazy activities. (We went skydiving a few years ago)
[4] Down to see the Arts (Musicals, Concerts, & Museums)
[5] Likes dancing (Hip-hop, R&B, Raggae, Pop, Alt/Rock, 80's, 90's)
[6] Down to do some site seeing.

But you gotta admit that it would certainly be a "surprise" ;)

Rent a plane for 2 hours or so and take her to Santa Barbara for dinner and you guys can watch the sunset on the way in or back. And no Im not saying a Jet but you can rent a small propeller plane for like $125 an hour of flight.

Thats just me since I love flying. Lol Here are some pics if you are interested of the small plane if you are curious.

Take her to LA for a weekend

1. First take her to LACMA and or the J Paul Getty Museum. Both have pretty interesting art exhibits.
2. Try to get couple seats for a sitcom show.
3. Eat an early dinner at Yamashiro in Hollywood (food is ok, but view is spectacular. Overlooking the whole Hollywood & sunset would be a plus)
4. Stop by Griffith Observatory (if they finished constructions) after dinner.
5. Go kick it at the Standard hotel lounge.

there is your whole date!! :)

Take her to:

A nice spa for "couples massage and treatment".

Go to Monterey, not too long of a drive and stay ot some place there and go check out the sea-lions. I can dig up the name of the place where we went.. pretty small reasonably price hotel with mini-hottub on balcony.

It all depends on how soon her bday is and budget.

-The Japanese Tea garden in Golden gate park is nice (failry low $).
-Napa wine tasting
-dinner at Chatue de Beach (not sure about the spelling)..it's at the end of golden gate park on the beach and has a great view-reservation just before sunset and a table at the window.

What's the budget???

I liked Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay for the view. If you get an Ocean View room ($800) :icon22: :icon22: .....that will definitely impress her. The food at Navajo (their main restuarant) is very good as well.

also try hokone gardens in Saratoga... looks pretty cool, just haven't had time to go check it out.

Now that's what I'm talking about :icon38:.

Let's see...

[1] Plane Rental: Sounds cool but I think she'll get a little claustrophobic if she stays in a small plane for a long while. She was okay with it when we went sky diving since it was a very short flight. So I'd say no to this idea.

[2] Weekend @ LA: Will do this when we can get out for an entire weekend but I'm looking for only a days worth of fun. So I'd say next time to this idea.

[3] Spa: She will definitely like this since she loves getting head massages but she will probably freak out if she gets a full body massage since she is extremely ticklish. So I'd say maybe to this idea.

[4] Japanese Tea Garden: Already did this several times.

[5] Half Moon Bay: Did something like this already but in Carmel but I'll put this as a maybe.

I would say my budget is no more than $500.

I was thinking of doing something similar to what they did in the movie "Hitch" (Will Smith) where someone showed you how to make Japanese food & you got to eat what you made (minus the allergic reaction of course ;)) but I have no idea where they would have such a thing . She was also down to go Go Kart Racing (believe it or not) but the problem is she doesn't want to go unless there is a lot of people to race with. Anyone down for a Go Kart Racing Meet? ;) Lastly, I was thinking of taking her on an evening cruise with dinner around the Bay but does anyone know of a good place to do this?

Thanks again everyone! I really appreciate your help... :)

For starters, Ritz-Carlton in Halfmoon Bay is a great place for brunch. After brunch a nice walk along the golf course takes you to some nice views of the shore, especially on sunny days.

James,

Check out the Hornblower. I did this one evening for Valentines Day. It was pretty reasonable too. However this will only cover about 2-3 hrs. Maybe you go one the Hornblower or another boat out of SF, I think it was Pier 39. Then maybe go to a club, there's supposed to be this one in SF that has a bunch of Celebs, that go there. Is it 113 or something like that, then get a room somewhere and call it a night. I think you said your girl lives near the city in another post so you might be able to skip that.

Found it http://www.hornblower.com/IDC/calendar.aspx?port=sf

Looks like Oct 1 & 2nd is open. I should surprise my girl with a weekend out, been modding the Z a lot and not doing my full duties, know what i mean.

Looks like its around 90 Per person. Have fun if you decide to go. OH and take the bonine pill just in case, take it the day before then 1hr - 30 min before cruise just to make sure. Side affects are increased appetite (good for the dinner) and drowsiness (bad for the Alckyhol). So try a red bull vodka. ahhaha later.

She is a KEEPER!!!! $500 budget, so I guess you're buying a round of Go-Karting for everyone...... :icon18: :icon18: :icon18:

I am down, but you sure she doesn't want to spend her birthday with you alone?

Hmm? I'm tempted to save this for our anniversary which is coming up in December. I actually took her here when we first started going out. It will be 5 years this December :).

I agree. She's definitely a keeper :icon38:.

I'm sure she'll be down for this kind of thing. She's the one who actually metioned one time to setup a Go Kart Racing Meet with you guys so she can go too. She's never done this kind of thing before. Main thing is, she has fun.

Hmm? Maybe we can do this during the day & a nice private dinner at night :icon38:.
