Default 370Z Rally at Nissan of Elk Grove (22 Nov 08)

Yes, the 370Z is making it'w way to Nissan of Elk Grove as part of the Follow the Nissan Z North American Rally.

I'm sure you're all acquainted with the website: http://www.followthenissanz.com

I've been in-contact with Nissan of Elk Grove in regards to the upcoming visit (sneak peek) of the 370Z.

The Show-n-Shine is set at 50 cars. 1/2 of the spaces is reserved for Datsun/Nissan Z cars. The remaining is open to "other" Datsun/Nissan and Infiniti cars.

If you are interested in participating in the Show-N-Shine, you will have to pre-register (there is no cost to be in the Show-n-Shine).

To register you must:

Email me at saczonc@gmail.com

Provide the following

1. Your full name (you may also include your forum nickname if desired)
2. Year / Model of your Datsun-Nissan-Infiniti
3. A valid email address for confirmation of your registration.

Posting at forums will not be accepted.

Registration deadline: 5PM, 16 November 2008.

FYI ..

1. Rob Fuller/Z Car Garage is supposed to be driving the 370Z from his shop to Nissan of Elk Grove - Saturday morning. It's arrival time is scheduled for 10:00AM

2. This gives NISSAN and NoEG time to do what they need to do to have the "Display" set up for the 370Z.

3. ZONC will be caravaning along with the 370Z enroute to NoEG from ZCG. This means ZONC will be arriving at NoEG at 10AM -- HINT HINT!

4. Parking .. Front 1/2 of the parking lot infront of the dealership is reserved for the 370Z and it's support equipment, trailer, etc ..

The Back 1/2 of the parking lot infront of the dealership is for CUSTOMER parking.

5. The Show-n-Shine area is RESERVED ONLY for those that have registered for the Show-n-Shine.

This means .. the rest of the parking will be "on the street" ...

I have two questions:

- What are the details of the Z Car Garage event on the 21st? I don't see them on that site.

- Would it be OK for me to join the caravan in my GT-R or would it be in better taste for me to join it in my 350Z? (serious question - not sure how people feel about that)

From my sources I am hearing that the 370z will be at Z Car Garage on the 21st from 3-7 pm. Departing on the 22nd for Elk Grove at 9:00 am and arriving at 11:30 am.
I just put this same question to my brother (we both own 350Z's) and funny thing is, his response was the opposite of mine.

My opinion: Take the GTR, because it’s new and not all have seen one yet in the flesh. Then again, I am a show off.
My brother’s opinion: Take the 350z, because the event is for the Z. and the focus should be kept on the Z.

So there you have it, back in your corner for the decision, even brothers disagree.

Btw: we have set aside a spot in the show and shine area for the GT-R (or any R32, R33, R34s that may show up).

Maybe I can drive the Z at the Friday afternoon event at ZCG and the GT-R with the caravan to Elk Grove

I just read this on the Z Car Garage blog about this event:

"Our group of cars will consist of Z cars new and old, the ZCG R35 GT-R, G35s, and other makes and models too. All that is required to join this group is a love for driving. Please come out and have a blast with us on this once in a lifetime road trip."

I like the last two senteces. It's your call. We have an area blocked off for registered show and shine GT-R's. Don't forget to register to ensure your spot. It's Free and open to the first 50 cars registering. It's already at 26 cars registered.

See you there!

(BTW, "commorative" --> commemorative. . . in case you are going to make fliers and distribute them).

The only comment I have ...

If you want to park in the show-n-shine area, you have to register. Otherwise you'll be parking on the street.

Yes, we have 1-GT-R already in the show .. another is more than welcome. REGISTER ..

Provide

1) Your name
2) Year/model of your Datsun/Nissan or Infiniti (no other marque is allowed)
3) Valid email address to send the registration confirmation

Send above to: saczonc @ gmail . com

I stopped posting here. I've only returned because of this thread. If you want to contact me ... I'm at the "other place" or email me.

Oh .. here is the new flyer

Any more info on the Zonc caravan from San Jose --> Sac.

Any1 interested in wasting a tank of gas and doing that round trip? I'm considering it.

We'd have to leave Sac fairly early in the morning.

No new info yet.

Sounds good, I would go, but I am working the event at Nissan of Elk Grove.

If folks are not interested in going the distance to SJ, then maybe go as far as Fairfield Nissan, its right next to I-80. Maybe have a look out car a few miles west, and then merge onto to the freeway. That would blow their minds, seeing about 10-20 Z's merge in behind them.
