Mysterious EMP/dark matter force field on 380?

So EVERY TIME i take 380, my vdc, slip and ABS lights all turn on. Once I turn the car off it resets and goes back to normal, but otherwise they stay on. It doesnt matter what my speed is or what direction im heading, it never fails. I havent had this happen on any other road thus far. Anyone experience this??

Aftermarket wheels?

EDIT: Never mind, just saw your other post saying you have stock wheels...

Does it always come on in the same spot?

Flo-ridaZ33 04-18-2011 01:45 AM

An EMP would shut your car off...

Thanks for clearing that up. Really, thank you.

Give or take a couple hundred feet. Last time it happened I was going eastbound right before the 101 south ramp, for those who are familiar.

This happens to be right near SFO. So far my only guess is theres some sort of interference involving radio signals or something. Random shot in the dark out of my ass though.

Was kinda hoping to hear something along the lines of "me too"...does anyone even drive by here often?

funny, the same thing has happened to me on the 380, but in my case i wasn't alarmed since i knew i needed to change my brake pads.

check your brake fluid levels as well as your brake pad & rotor thicknesses as those lights generally indicate a brake issue.

Ah and people was poking fun at him...

Ah i see...I could be due for a pad swap, and I should check the rotors since I dont know if they're still within spec. Thank you for the suggestion.

Still doesnt explain why it only happens there though! Never ever anywhere else, so strange.

funny, it happened to me again today after merging onto 380 :o

sounds like a conspiracy! lol, anyone else get the same problems in the same spot?

Zedhead07 04-22-2011 06:49 PM

Sounds like an excuse to make a road trip just to see if it is a "Zone"!

So I took the middle lane going west instead of the far right lane, and no lights came on...probably will never figure out why this happens, still boggles me mind.

All I can think of is that there is a HOOTERS restaurant in the area... Maybe you stop by there and unboggle your mind... :)

EMP Technologies

Ripely's believe it or not:
latest chp toy is a programable emp generator which can stream bursts of pulse signal at freq. levels which operat the primary operating systems of ecm controlled vehicles. Z systems operate at a freq , which if mapped accordingly, can be controlled from an external source , such as these devices can do. Best alternative is to wrap your modules in lead.

USAF has a EMP targeting model neatly tucked away in a modified 747 which can knock things out of the sky. Cars OS are at a much lower freq and therefore more controllable.
Primarily used for pursuits where deadly force is the alternate option. Road spikes have a tendency to allow the fast vehicle to traction slip and possibily roll/loose directional control.
A similar model is wired into bait cars and simply turned on via remote in theft stings. You might have seen a lower technology model in the public television show.

All of this is public information under scientific technologies advancement.

High freq. pulse generator guns (naturally NRA sanctioned) have been around for a couple of years but not too public. They have a tendency to short out pace makers and hearing aids on those with them, causing wrecks. Controllable optimum range is 750 yds before signal spans out. It is similar to concept of harmonizing signal path in a light beam as a laser does, tighter the concetration, the more it can do to the receiving target.

my suspicion is that SFO is using some sort of frequency to keep birds out of the area. the ramp from the 101 onto the 380 is directly in the takeoff path of the larger planes (747s, 380s, 777s...international flights mostly). since those planes are much lower to the ground when flying over that area (the smaller planes climb quickly and usually take off heading towards downtown SF), my guess is they are worried about bird strikes. just a thought :dunno:
