AAM Built: In-House Sleeved VQ, GReddy Twins, AAM Fuel and Exhaust: 550whp Pump Gas

Well, we just finished up another AAM In-House, Built and Sleeved GReddy Twin Car. Too bad its snowing :(

During the break-in period, our long-time customer Javier decided that he wouldn't be happy unless he was well into the fives on pump. So after the break-in, we stripped off the 2 and some odd inch aftermarket exhaust he was running and bolted-up our AAM 3" GReddy Down-Pipes w/ open dumps and our 3" Dual Titanium Exhaust. It always a shock what a difference a 3" turbo back exhaust makes - even with a slipping clutch! He'll be back soon for Cams and a twin-plate for 600++

Here are some the rest of the specs on the car:

AAM In-House Built and CNC Machined Stage III Block
*Darton Sleeves
*JE .020 9:0:1 Custom 1000hp Pistons
*Eagle Rods
*L19s
*AAM CNC Block Cooling Modifications #1 & #2

Stock Heads
GReddy Twin Kit and Front Mount
HKS Head-Gasket
RevUp Oil Pump
AAM Oil Pan Spacer, TB Spacer, Plenum Spacer, and return Line Kit.
AAM Oil Cooler
AAM Billet Rail Return System and Pump
*750cc RC Injectors
AAM ECU Flash
Utec EMS
JWT Clutch & Flywheel
HKS EVC VI
ENDLESS BBK
VOLK SF-Winnings

Nice numbers.

taurran 01-17-2008 08:57 AM

Nice, but definitely a bit more in that setup for sure. Needs a standalone (like me)!

I'm interested if you all had any issues running those RC 750's with the UTEC. Anything strange?

What's with Peak TRQ at 5800? :icon11:

eagletanggreen 01-17-2008 10:24 AM

Coooooool!:o

How much does a set up like this (ball park) cost?

Did you guys fix the problem with the 3" exhausts (fitment issues). I had nothing but problems with mine, had to sell it!

doug 01-17-2008 10:28 AM

i'm sure that wing will help keep the car mounted on the dyno when you guys go for more power *sarcasm*

yeah i must say the dyno chart is not as bumpy and rugged as that APS TT thread everyone keeps bumping every day

JETPILOT 01-17-2008 10:40 AM

Yeah.... the peak torque is strangely high RPM, and it's quite low. Usually torque is right around the HP number.

Hey thanks for the comments. We've made several adjustments to the design of the 3" exhaust and it now fits like a glove. :D

Shortly after 3800 rpm, the JWT clutch begins to slip a bit. We'll be putting in multi-disc clutch and re-dynoing shortly. I cant wait to see what the torque is then!!!!!!

Thanks! A stand-alone would allow us to turn up the power even more. As far as the 750cc injectors go, they are a chore with the Utec. But since our ECU Flash's come with injector scaling and startup/idle enhancements, we can get the Utec to work quite well with them - to the point where if the Utec goes bad, you can remove it and run off of the factory ECU to 1-2psi max.

Clint are you guys going to do a more accurate pull in 5th gear anytime soon?

punish_her 01-17-2008 12:20 PM

With the pump gas (octane?) and 9:1 pistons, whats the psi you guys are running at to get the 550whp?

Eventually we'll make a fifth gear pull. The JWT Clutch that is in the car now is about done. So it'll have to wait until we get a twin-plate in the car.

JETPILOT 01-17-2008 02:29 PM

For that much torque I would be looking at getting a triple carbon clutch.
