4.3L VQTT build!!

Okay here is a little project we have been putting together over the past couple months for a customer at JGY...

VQ43DETT.

we had the sleeves made to turn block into a solid deck.

and using a BC stroker crank, and massive 103mm CP pistons we achieved the 4.3 liters of displacement.

once the motor is finally buttoned up we will be installing it into the a 350z with a JWT twin turbo kit mated to 2 gt3076's (500hp rated...each)... this is going to be fun!

heres some pics of the build...

along with this amazing bottom end, we made sure to give the head some attention...

and the big boy crank...drool

that should hold this thing together

and to top it off... look at this piece of art that was custom made...delicious...

we work very close with jwt and have had alot of success with these kits... you cant go wrong with a cast mani!

ace32x 12-12-2012 10:20 AM

good looking build

JGYMotorsports 12-12-2012 10:24 AM

thanks, were pretty stoked on it

TRYNALIVEPRO 12-12-2012 10:52 AM

Thats a lot of motor...

^ Gonna be thirsty that's for sure.

JGYMotorsports 12-12-2012 11:06 AM

oh its gonna get plenty to drank on

Nice, Looking forward to seeing this come together.

str8dum1 12-12-2012 11:35 AM

what head gasket are you using?

JGYMotorsports 12-12-2012 12:51 PM

we had cometic make one specifically for this build, its special:cool:

is this going in a hr or how are you planning on controlling 2 TBs?

hopefully the sleeves dont drop as is common with the Dartons

djamps 12-12-2012 02:25 PM

I'll take a stab and guess they are going to run cable TB's and an expensive standalone

Thanks for sharing. Nice looking custom manifold. Very interested to see the electronics to control that and how you manage to squeeze larger turbos onto the JWT cast manifold (the T25 flange sits the turbine very close to the block). Also, the large compressor inlets on the larger turbos conflicted with the motor mounts when we tried to do the same thing at Dynosty with GTX2867s (and those are smaller than what you are using). Ended up with tubular headers from Tim at SFR with all v-band connections. I predict that monster motor and small piping will result in early torque but limit high rpm power. What's worse is that you'll have a one-off fitment that will require a lot of work to get another turbo to fit if you find you've picked the wrong one.

JGYMotorsports 12-12-2012 02:56 PM

haha nope, thats why we are not sourcing darton sleeves. we have our own sleeves made.http://www.jgy.cc/Project%20Cars/jon...images/jw9.jpg^ ours has a 3 step design, and a perfect fit.

and we will be running a haltec on the car.

and thanks, the manifold def is pretty ha. and actually the gt3076 has the same covers as the lets say 2871r (to4b compressor housing), so fitment should be no issue at all... and we opted for 2.75 inlets for more room. the cast manifold should serve the purpose just fine, as for the intercooler piping we will be custom making it to flow just right and to match the new style intake manifold that was made.

Very interesting build. Glad to see something new and different, especially with regards to the custom sleeving. But doesn't the JWT manifold have T25 flanges? Won't it choke off that 4.3L and defeat the purpose of the head work?:dunno:

It looks very similar to SFR's twin throttlebody manifold for the DE and I imagine they would run the 2nd TB the same way.

This is a complete package which comes with everything needed to bolt the SFR twin throttlebody, twin plenum intake manifold onto your 350Z or G35.We provide you with the plenum, extra throttlebody,Coolant/power steerring/oil catch can, throttlebody driver box and harness and second OEM throttlebody as well as the vanity cover to help clean up the engine even further.

that is correct, we are using t2 flanges, which is no problem for 1 its equal to having 2.15 liters to each bank/turbo which is no where near over loading, and the same amount exhaust no matter the flange will pass through the turbo, if anything it will get to the turbo quicker due to the velocity which equals quicker spool! its a great combo!

and to be honest out customer had the intake manifold made from someplace in california? maybe SFR? looks the exact same so im guessing thats what it is ha. either way its baller.

I'll let Abonham own this thread, but just my 2 cents.

My buddy(the customer) loves JGYBB37's (now GT3076's). He specifically requested 2 of them to be used on this build. Realizing that his goal is ONLY 700 RWHP, choosing 2 500hp turbos will do just fine. With 2.15 liters per side of each motor feeding a 3 inlet manifold will easily feed each turbo to easily make 350HP at the wheels. On an SR with one of those turbo's we easily, easily see 400WHP. I know that you can't compare motors to motors, but I'm confortable.

Moving from the stock stroke to the larger/longer stroke of the BC stroker crank is limiting our RPM's already. The customer wants power early. So, you are correct in what you say about the rpm limit.

Along the lines of the piping.....? what piping? :icon17: We will probably use about 15% of the JWT pipes and fab the rest. Heck, we are using an intake from some place in CA that Jon (customer) sent us so we have to make alot of it from scratch since we are going to 2 throttle bodies. We may even change the inlets of the intercooler.

trust us guys, it's going to work :-) oh, and he wants cruise control :dunno:

to set the record straight, my only, only concern with the entire setup from motor build to install, to tuning, is that of keeping the motor cool enough for long term street use as I have blocked alot of the water passages. We have done some things and are doing some tricks to help fix this. We may also opt for an external fix for this as well.

thanks and I'm out!

str8dum1 12-12-2012 04:00 PM

well hopefully when you get in the T25 turbine housings for those gt3076s, it will all fit no worries.

are you looking for 700whp on pump gas?
