btw in SCCA club racing they are not even in the same class, 350Z=T2 RX8=T3, but in autox the are together. So that must mean guys that autox RX8s are better drivers than the 350z guys or the RX8 handles better than the high powered Z.
hahahaha
Of course I am aware of the National results. I am also aware that the 8 has nearly perfect balance, and is nice and under powered. The Z has more power and less handling. Too bad Mazda opted for the rotary again, as a more traditional engine (such as the VQ) could have concreted the 8 as one of the best ever.
Of course the 8 is the BS class ringer.

You don't have to tell me about power vs. handling in autocross. I raced a SE-R with 170whp in STS and I raced a 93whp EF chassis in STS. The EF was over two seconds faster on 40 second courses! (and is the class ringer)

Let the banter continue!!!

ULLLOSE is on target re the Z's lack of front camber adjustment for stock class autocrossing. Our setup is for sure full of compensating adjustments to find the best compromize between understeer and rear wheel spin....the Z's LSD is also not what we would like it to be either....but you work with what you got or you get something else.

stock the 8 weighs around 2800-2900.

on the street, my car doesn't push at all. riding on t1r's 245/255 @ 44-41psi

on the track, my car pushes all day long. hoosier a3s05, 245/275 @ 61-55psi.

in conclusion, it's probably the staggered size. but i was wondering if i unstiffened the bar, would the understeer effect of the 245/275 be lessened? guess it doesn't really matter now.. hoosiers are shot and kumho's will be ordered whenever i make a decent paycheck.

On the street, you are usually never going to the tires' limit.

You think it's the staggered rim/tire size? I doubt that.
You can add some snap oversteer with higher rear pressures/lower front pressures or a combination of the two.
That is what I'm going to have to do until I install the shocks, and it will be great, so I can find a base to use for the PSI in the tires. After the shocks are in, I can adjust all three to a good balance.

JUN14scr....please note that our setup is for autox only....doubt that it would work at all on the track.

you dont wanna know what happens when i loosen the rear end up! mike - 'please don't hit any inanimate objects in my car' as he grips the door frame.

my car is very sporadic. earlier in this season it was well balanced and neutral (test and tune, march event).. really loose (greensboro, april event).. then now it understeers a lot (may/june.. now i don't drive it). i think it can also be attributed to the deterioration in the tires. i might be construing the front tires having no physical grip as understeering (tires are way hard).

the t1r's actually did understeer slightly when i've run them at CCR this season, but didn't at all when i ran them at VIR.

guess we'll reevaluate my setup once i get the car on new tires.

I would consider the 350z suspension weak, its as good as a 30 year old mustang design. Any company that does not see fit to give you any front camber adjustment has no love for racing.

You just jealous cause our car looks better . And in movies girls don't drive them.

Dude its Hollywood, they can make anything look good. The only way Nissan can get on the big screen is cut a big check to the Fast and Fab boys and give them free cars to wreck.

Back on track, the Cusco front bar came in today. It's most definitely solid.

Downfall: installation instructions are in 100% Japanese haha

Good thing it's a cinch to install.

Regarding our setup.....everything we have done has been directed at:
1.Reducing understeer
2.Reducing rear wheel spin

The big bar is just one part of the equation.
I know all about the reason's why your doing what your doing with the front bar, I am very much in your camp on that. But where did you get the idea that the Cusco bars are hollow? They've alway's been solid, just like the EVO product.

I thought the same, but was not 100%..... regardless, we all know they are solid.
