Has anyone ever gotten hassled? You all know how cops are in certain places of SoCal. What's my justification if I ever do? I mean.....it is a factory part and 50-state emmissions legal, but it's so shiny from the back. I heard cops have decibel meters these days :\. The Nismo exhaust isn't that loud, is it? Oh, and I got a pop charger.

 

nismo isnt that loud unless u really get on it. plus it looks stock so u wont have a problem. go for the nismo!

i have had 0 problems with it. i also have the pop charger and headers. the headers made it a little louder. its really only loud if you get on it and are way up in the revs

enjoy it. it does not drone in the car at all. even when i drove from orange county to chicago i didnt even notice it most of the time

 

nismo should be fine. stay away from topspeed. freaking loud. i dont get hassled alot for my hks but i dont drive local streets too often

 

i got a stillen true dual and hfcs....never had any probs and this thing is loud as heck

 

I have a Nismo Exhaust right now. U wont be hassled by cops for that. It's too quiet for them. Lol..

 

I have Nismo Exhaust and DC headers. I turned the head of a cop once when I wasn't paying attention to who was going the other way, and I stepped on it. Other than that, (knock on wood), Officers haven't really given me a second glance..but they do look. Z's, especially modded Z's get lots of looks.

 

I got hassled for having a stock exhaust...when my car was bone stock.



It dawned on me that I could install any street-legal exhaust as long as I don't go Wide open throttle in front of a cop.

 

But if you drive a Harley-Davidson the Cops do not bother you...oh the injustice!

 

Injustice? yes but I don't remember the last time I've seen a teen on a Harley.

The army of ricers have the hog-riders beat.

The decibel excuse is only leverage for some cops to pull over potentially fast cars.

 

wow i thought i was the only one. a cop pulled me over about a month ago. i was going 40mph in a 40 zone, i didnt run any red lights or make any illegal moves and i know my tags r still good. and then i see blues and reds. cop tells me my exhaust is too loud, asks me if im running straight pipes. of course i say no, its bone stock, what do u want me to do? he looks under the car. finds nothing, asks if i drank that night. and then he is like you might want to muffle that exhaust then. im like go complain to nissan. stupid *** hole hassled me for nothing.

 

What gets me is when people like us get hassled over BS kind of things like this yet I see dope addicts, husslers & street people not getting hassled in my area.

 

Because people like me and you show up to court, pay tickets and fines on time. Someones has to get paid!

All I can tell you is that switching to popcharger and kinetix cats on stock exhaust is loud as fock when you go WOT.

I think any cop will pull you over if you're doing a WOT run right in front of them, regardless of exhaust.

And I've gotten pulled over 2-3 blocks from a Nissan dealership for "modfied exhaust" when my exhaust is stock.

If a stock Z from the dealership hadn't drove by, he probably would of given me a ticket.

Apparently the strut bar under the hood is "aftermarket" on Z's also.

My neighboor across the street likes to go to dell taco at 3am on his harley. So he tears up leaving his house cause he is cool.

Meanwhile he *****es about my brakes squealing when I come home at night (9-10pm)...

 

Nismo is the way to go. Stock or Nismo ... same chance of getting hassled by a pig.
