Kind of a short notice for those that haven't seen the 805 area thread.

I have a cruise/lunch scheduled for the 11th of Feb (Sunday) with a few old fellas of mine from my old RX-8 community. I wanted to see if any of you wanted to joint in. If you do decide to go, I don't want this to turn into a "my car is better than yours" crap. We don't race or act like kids. We do it for the pleasure of driving our cars and sharing with other car enthusiast. Is a full day event pretty much. We start by meeting at a Mcdonalds parking lot in Calabasa. We cruise in the canyons making a few stop and chatting with other car club we run into, usually Ferraris, Lambos and Lotus. The plans is to stop at Neptunes Net but we are trying to find a new restaurant to stop in because it gets pretty crowded there. You also have to pay for parking and wait on line to order for over an hour. We were talking about going to Dukes restaurant but we can't make a reservation for the large group we have coming. So if you have an idea where we can have lunch, let me know so I can see if everyone is up to for it.

BTW forgot to mention than if it rains on Saturday then we are going to postpone this meet for a dry day.It gets pretty scary up there when there is dirt on the middle of the road.

 

I'll try to make it. I was actually planning to do some canyons with some S2K guys on sunday, but a new group would be cool. I'm actually supposed to do a palomar/julian run on saturday morning so if I'm not that tired of driving I should be there.

For neptunes net, I'm pretty sure the parking is free, at least it was last time I went. There is malibu fish and seafood on PCH nearby pepperdine. It's quite similar to neptunes, but will have a little wait on a busy day. I checked your other thread, and saw Dukes as a previous option. Even though you can't make reservations for a large group, you can still sit 5 or so to a table, so that shouldn't dissuade you from that place. They don't however let you group/connect tables together.

BTW, is this more of a run or a cruise?

 

The problem with Dukes is that we have at least, 20 people or more going. From the RX-8 side alone is like 14 + the group that I know is going from here. Last time we had this cruise we had to pay for parking at Neptunes. The guy did not issue any tickets or anything as evidence that you pay so I never did.

This is more of a cruise. Of course there is the group that likes to push it on the turns but there is the group like me that can't push their cars because their tires sucks. I want to keep the 2 group separated because for picture purpose. So I will let them go in the front and we will fallow. For this meet I will head out after lunch since I have other plans with the family.

welll.....according to the weather online, its raining a little in malubu right now and it is supposed to continue throughout the say today and into tomorrow morning. so if its keeps raining i guess its off huh?

Well the RX-8 guys still going and so is the Ferrari/Supercar Club. So I'm going to give it a shot and get some King Crab Legs for lunch at Neptunes.

 

Turned out to be a very nice day after all. Only one other Z showed up but we had fun despite the fact of my crappy tires kicking the VDC every turn. If you want to se some pic here they are. BTW my user name is hondasr4kids

I had a good time. The weather turned out to be very nice. I'd defiantly be down to do this again.

okay we are planning to go up the cayons in the morning, then having a BBQ at the beach in the base. If you are interested I need to know so I can manage to see how many base passes I have to get.

 

okay here is what is going on

March 4th at the same time at McDs. Cruise down to PCH our regular way then come over the base for lunch. I need to know who is coming and what are you willing to bring to the BBQ. I need to have the names (what is on your drivers lic.by the 25th of Feb.

Okay, I can get in as many people needed to the base. I have to summit a list of names 5 working prior to the event. So I need to know by Monday who is coming and if they are bringing some one with them. If you can get ina base with out me getting you a pass don't worry about it. I will need your full name (what it is your lincese or ID card) and citizen ship.

I will update this as I get more info.

Okay the cruise plan had change to the traditional plans. Meeting at McDs at 10am Sundy the 4th of March. Going up the canyons and stopping over at Neptunes for lunch. Then we will see about going back the up the canyons towards the 101.
