FINALLY!!!! I've got a tuning Session with Forged

I'll be going this fri morning at 11am to get my long awaited tune. I can't wait for my vehicle to run smooth up top. I've had my UTEC for over 4 months and until now haven't had a chance to road trip out there to get it done.

TENGAI Dec 5, 2006 10:49 AM

Post up some numbers when it's done. I'd be interested to see what Sharif can do with the UTEC on an nice N/A setup...

DayBlueZ Dec 5, 2006 02:25 PM

Well, it seems that i tuned it pretty good before i got there. He pulled out 9HP for me. Can't remember the tq numbers. Rolled in at 225hp and out with 234

Mazinger Z Dec 5, 2006 05:29 PM

How much is it to get a tune ?

ZLadie2000 Dec 5, 2006 05:33 PM

Did you notice a difference? Car pull harder?

Alberto Dec 5, 2006 06:02 PM

Did you run the 13.1 before or after the tune? Id think after but fast a$$ auto you got there...

ZLadie2000 Dec 5, 2006 06:05 PM

After man, and this guy is my freakin IDOL...

I am a bit confused, you listed MREV2 as one of your mods, isn't that only for a revup engine? Have you done an engine swap? Just curious.

Sharif@Forged Dec 6, 2006 01:37 PM

Hi Larry, great to have you and your GF at the shop, and finally put two and two together. :)

I am going to scan the before/after trq numbers in just a little bit. Low 13's with this setup is outstanding.

Oh, and Larry's self-tune was probably one of the best I have seen...he didnt leave much more room to play. :D

hey, is this your base dyno? when are you getting this tune?

DayBlueZ Dec 21, 2006 02:55 PM

naw man, that's after! That's why i was complaining about adding mods on an NA vehicle in the main section here. But, i guess i can't complain. A 234hp auto that runs 13.17 in a 1/4 with street tires. I dyno'd on a Dynojet for a baseline bone stock. 229hp. I haven't been back to the same dyno yet to see how much has been gained. That is the ONLY way i'll know how much i gained totally with all my mods.

Cannysage Dec 21, 2006 03:37 PM

that's weird.. I dyno'd 284 on my 5at on dynapack. I have less mods and i know dynapack numbers are higher, but still... that's pretty low for your list of mods.

ZLadie2000 Dec 21, 2006 03:43 PM

^^ not low for his quarter mile time!!

Cannysage Dec 21, 2006 09:03 PM

^ yeah, that's mind boggling.. he must have massive midrange torque or sum'n.

Dynopacks do tend to read higher, and ours reads much lower than a DynoJet. Your car would probably much lower on our heart-breaker. :D

Go back to that same dyno man. I just dynoed 237.5 RWHP on a Dyno Jet (Performance Factory in Orlando), that's before the UTEC tune... I wanted to see about 240 rwhp, got pretty close. I'd be interested in seeing what your 234 rwhp translates to on a dyno jet sae corrected numbers.

BhamZMan Jan 7, 2007 06:41 PM

Nice to see another Bham Z owner made the trip out to Forged. Sharif got me 9 more ponies with my tune..cant remember how much torque but I think it was the same. My 256.5 whp on his dyno must be pretty good as I am seeing most other users with my mods getting in the 240ish range :icon11: . Btw OP where did you go to run the 1/4? I have been itching to find a place :icon38: .

rcdash Jan 8, 2007 07:49 PM

With a 3.5 diff and that 1/4 mile time, I'd say his engine is putting out more than most everyone else's on this board (NA). As has been said a thousand times before, dyno #s across dynos means squat.

ZLadie2000 Jan 9, 2007 05:48 AM

^^^ very true, Im just wondering what that 234 would be on a dyno jet...
