Technosquare Reflash question

This is probably a really stupid question but:

If your engine is completely stock and you have your ECU reflashed or whatever technosquare does...do you see HP and TQ gains?

Baller23217 08-28-2008 07:43 PM

24 views and no short answer...i don't mind if you flame me (pause)...i'm sure its a dumb question

whoopazz1 08-28-2008 07:50 PM

I think in some of the threads, people said that you might gain a bit, but the two things that it does that I like are:

1. 8000RPM redline
2. ability to open up your throttle 100% right when press it to the floor... and not gradually as it does with it being stock

Baller23217 08-28-2008 11:39 PM

so minimal power gains?

Yes.

A.H 08-30-2008 11:31 AM

It's pretty retarded to do it stock if you plan on getting modifications in teh form of bolt ons cause you will jsut have to reflash again but if you plan to stay stock performance wise and jsut want the car to have a better response with some power gains go for the reflash stock.

infinite 08-30-2008 11:34 AM

you probably won't gain much, but you'll gain something along with some extra mpg city driving.

Baller23217 08-30-2008 12:34 PM

how much does it cost?

8000RPM redline? There were 3 different motors used in these cars. Which one were you refering to?

none, the raflash ups the redline to 8000rpm.

JETPILOT 08-31-2008 04:06 PM

It doesn't raise the redline to 8000RPM. The engines redline is what the engine is safely able to rev to. The stock valve springs aren't going to handle anything near 8000 RPM. There is no point to reving to 8000RPM if you aren't making power up there.

ty. redline is redline...not where a random gauge tells you it's okay. jeez.

JETPILOT 08-31-2008 04:15 PM

OK..... Thanks for the tutorial. You go on believing that. Just don't expect anyone else to believe it.

who me?

BonesZ33 08-31-2008 04:20 PM

i believe the rev limiter is set to 7200 instead of 6600 on the 287 motor... not 8000

BonesZ33 08-31-2008 04:20 PM

speed governor is removed too

HR engine gets its fuel cut set to 8000 with the reflash.

I believe there is a point. As you said you dont' gain WHP at that RPM so why rev to it? Well my peak WHP is at 7000 and if i shift at 8000 instead of 7500 then when im in the next gear i will be right dab in the middle towards the top of my power band instead of lower down where i have much less power.

I swore it raised the rev limiter to 8000rpm, but whatever

whoopazz1 08-31-2008 07:59 PM

Yes from what I have read it raises the rev limiter to 8000 rpm, on a HR motor.

A.H 08-31-2008 09:03 PM

I promise you its 8000....especially cause I have the reflash...

infinite 08-31-2008 09:07 PM

But I wanted to rev to 10,000 like a ferrari :(

If I get the reflash now... can I get the dyno tuning for it after I get my HFC installed? or is there a need to reflash again?

Also does the reflash adjust the A/F?

A.H 09-01-2008 09:48 PM

yea just tell tadashi you are getting hfc and he will program the refalsh for it. Then whenever you decide to get tuning. He'll will precisely tune to get any extra whp from it. And yes it does adjust the a/f

yeah I know I'd get more from a reflash than a hfc upgrade.

I just don't want to wait to save up for...

hfc+labor+ reflash+tuning at once.

and I know if I install the HFC now, it will be untuned and eat up gas as it will alter the A/F big time. I rather have fun with more power now, throttle and already be tuned installing the HFC.

are there any way to get a discount???

Baller23217 10-30-2008 09:32 AM

would my HR put 300 hp to the wheels with:

K&N drop ins
Berk HFC (or another similar option)
HKS Hi-Power dual exhaust
Technosquare Reflash

kramykram 10-30-2008 10:03 AM

yes hr stock redline is 7500 ecu reflash takes it to 8k

I'd say you would be very close, but just shy. You would probably need a tune to touch 300+
