Technosquare Reflash question
This is probably a really stupid question but:
If your engine is completely stock and you have your ECU reflashed or whatever technosquare does...do you see HP and TQ gains? |
24 views and no short answer...i don't mind if you flame me (pause)...i'm sure its a dumb question
|
I think in some of the threads, people said that you might gain a bit, but the two things that it does that I like are:
1. 8000RPM redline 2. ability to open up your throttle 100% right when press it to the floor... and not gradually as it does with it being stock |
so minimal power gains?

It's pretty retarded to do it stock if you plan on getting modifications in teh form of bolt ons cause you will jsut have to reflash again but if you plan to stay stock performance wise and jsut want the car to have a better response with some power gains go for the reflash stock.
|
you probably won't gain much, but you'll gain something along with some extra mpg city driving.
|
how much does it cost?

It doesn't raise the redline to 8000RPM. The engines redline is what the engine is safely able to rev to. The stock valve springs aren't going to handle anything near 8000 RPM. There is no point to reving to 8000RPM if you aren't making power up there.

OK..... Thanks for the tutorial. You go on believing that. Just don't expect anyone else to believe it.

i believe the rev limiter is set to 7200 instead of 6600 on the 287 motor... not 8000
|
speed governor is removed too

HR engine gets its fuel cut set to 8000 with the reflash. |

Yes from what I have read it raises the rev limiter to 8000 rpm, on a HR motor.
|
I promise you its 8000....especially cause I have the reflash...
|
But I wanted to rev to 10,000 like a ferrari :(

edited......

If I get the reflash now... can I get the dyno tuning for it after I get my HFC installed? or is there a need to reflash again?
Also does the reflash adjust the A/F? |
yea just tell tadashi you are getting hfc and he will program the refalsh for it. Then whenever you decide to get tuning. He'll will precisely tune to get any extra whp from it. And yes it does adjust the a/f

I just don't want to wait to save up for... hfc+labor+ reflash+tuning at once. and I know if I install the HFC now, it will be untuned and eat up gas as it will alter the A/F big time. I rather have fun with more power now, throttle and already be tuned installing the HFC. |

would my HR put 300 hp to the wheels with:
K&N drop ins Berk HFC (or another similar option) HKS Hi-Power dual exhaust Technosquare Reflash |

Yes.
