Default Re-dyno'd my car

Here are some dyno charts.
Mods are as follow:
JWT pop chargers
Test pipes
APS TD
Technosquare reflash
UR pulley
This was done on a dynojet in Auburn WA at the Drift Office.
Good and experienced guys, looking forward to go back there with a turbo kit soon and break the 500whp

The Charts are as follow:
1st chart 3 gear run, 2nd chart 4th gear run, and 3rd chart 5th gear run

Why is it considerably lower than the other dyno's we've seen?

Is it because he didn't have a custom tune?

Nice numbers nonetheless.

Out of curiosity, what are the other numbers that you've seen and where were the dynos located do you know?

Regards!

Bob
check these threads out
https://my350z.com/forum/vq35hr/3819...os-inside.html
The guy has pretty much same bolt ons as me + headers, Cold air intake (instead of JWT pop chargers), and the custom tune
https://my350z.com/forum/vq35hr/3912...no-inside.html
This guy has also cold air intakes, exhaust, high flow cats, and the custom tune as well.
All of these were tuned by Tadashi in Cali, So i think it is same to assume that it is the same dyno
I hope that these guys will chime in and give you more details.
It seems like everything is in the tune.
Well, when Cobb officially releases the access port i can come over and we can give it a try.

your JWT pop chargers are prob making you lose power because they are not a true Cold air intake... someone correct me if im wrong, you would get more power out of injen CAI or k&n drop in filters

The tuner at technosquare claims that the only intakes that make power are the injen intakes. That is probably where you are losing some power.

Injen CAI's > K&N Drop Ins > Stock > Short Rams

The stock system takes in cooler air than a short ram intake, the inlets are just above the radiator.

also, the other 2 dynos that were posted with 311whp and 318whp had the injen intakes not the pop chargers.

read my following post i did note that they have CAI.
BTW, i dont think i have lost any power with the JTW's, since we had a fan + the large fan infront of the car that was blowing straight into the filters. I dont see how the stock air box would have sucked more air. I dont think i have gained anything that's for sure.

cause most of the inflated numbers have been run off Mustang dynos. you wont see 300whp + on dynojets and no where near that on a dyno dynamics.

350Zimo : If you're going to get the Injen CAIs, let me know... we'll work something out!

That really all depends on the dyno operator and if they calibrate / input the correct temp values before each run or if they just input generic #s when they first start it up...

Case in point; I had a STI on a Mustang in Oregon dyno @ 322WHP and a day later, was up this way and dynoed @ 319WHP here on my dyno... Conversely speaking, I've seen some AWD dynos claim 300+ TQ when it did only 260+ on my machine.

So depending on where you go, how knowledgeable and capable the operators are, your actual mileage would vary. You do realize that this is also a double edged sword where an operator might try to "up sell" you on products and services, but that's another story altogether!

Regards!

I was thought mustang dynos usually show lower numbers compared to dynojets?

Also temperature and humidity has an effect along with the altitude of the dyno

here my thought on dynos. You should only really consider the amount gained over your baseline because as mentioned above all dynos are created different. So even though you have a print out that says less than what another one say you could have gained more over the respective baseline number than the higher reading one. Its just a number and its really about how the car feels.

Well said. +1

Ultimately, I only use it as a tool to benchmark what the application was doing before the mod / tunes and then subsequently, after.

One shouldn't be too concerned with a difference of a few % points... There's just too many variables from location to location, dyno cells, etc etc... That is of course unless you go to the same dyno all the time!

Anyway, back to the topic at hand...

I dont think i want to spend anymore money on this car for now. If i am gonna do something that would be the GTM turbo kit in the near future. I dont want to spend hundreds of dollars for insufficient hp/tq. I want the real stuff. Then we can really work something out
