JMS Racing Twin Turbo VQ35HR

Well guys I didn't want to start a thread during my build was going on. I mainly wanted to wait for some results to post up instead of having you guys check the thread every day with no updates LOL! Ok well to start I will give you guys a run down of my mods list. Started off with my spare VQ35HR motor and heads, JMS sent it off to Darton to have it Sleeved, then found a great deal on some 9.5:1 CP Pistons, and BC connecting rods. The. I got onto GTM website and ordered their Fuel rails with fuel return system, I thought I wasn't going to receive anything because of all the stories about GTM but luckily I did receive the order. As for my fuel system I am using a Radium surge tank with triple 255lph fuel pumps and and extra 255lph fuel pump in the OEM tank to feed my surge tank with 1300cc ID injectors. Then I went to JWT and ordered the C1HR camshafts with heavy duty valve springs and their cam bolt mod. Then got BC 1mm+ valves and BC valve guides and got those heads ported and polished. We used ARP L19 bolts and studs to ensure everything would hold. My goal is to make a max horse power of 800whp, but by the way it's looking I think this build can go waaaaayyyyy higher.

Omg. How much boost are the turbos capable of?

PP08HR 10-01-2015 12:33 PM

Holy crap!!! Does that thing do wheelies?

Tochigi_236 10-01-2015 12:36 PM

Subbed for the awesomeness.

I find it kinda odd why torque is so much lower in these things...? How could we get them to even out a but?

MM'08_350Z 10-01-2015 01:14 PM

I wish I knew how to make that torque come up. Turbos are good for 30psi, block is good for 1600whp, and I think I'm going to stop at around 850whp because I feel the OEM plastic manifold might give. I've never seen an intake manifold blow up or even posted, but I don't want to be the first. I know the car can easily pull between 900-1000 WHP, I just do t want to push it with the OEM manifold. 😥

HRMoneyPit 10-01-2015 01:19 PM

Time for a new manifold

Such a great build man!

Have you been out on the street with it yet, or pretty much just dyno miles for the time being? Curious to hear how that crazy thing hooks up haha

Sub'd for sure

Effin well done.. Torque breaks things. LMAO I'm thinking this has plenty of HP to keep pulling up top once you hit the torque wall.. Happy to see something new as of late..

Juztin 10-02-2015 06:59 AM

Solid results! I have the same 'problem' with TQ, my last dyno at low boost was 600/450. Damn I need to upgrade my turbo's, I've been eyeing 3076's and your results speak volumes!

It's not a problem at all. That's just typically the nature of the beast with a high red line. The higher the rpm, the higher hp will be relative to torque. In order to close the hp/tq gap on a motor with a high redline you'd need your torque to peak super early and then drop way off which obviously isn't ideal. Your torque curve stays pretty damn flat after the peak which means HP is going to continue to climb. You should be very happy about that.
