just got 19's on. mad gap. help.
 

Hi, I just put these on the car, but the gap in the rear is amazing...i can fit my fist across the gap. my car has 15k miles on it. the rear tires are 275/30/19. But on the last owners stock suspension car, it wasn't like this at all....what is wrong with my car? how much help of getting 275/35/19's help me?

they both look pretty identical to me.
i think the different lighting is giving off the illusion that his has less of a gap.

if u dont want it to look like a 4x4, u should lower it. :)

haha yea, but The rear tires are bald and needs to be replaced anyways. so i was thinking....how would 275 40 19 fit in the rear? since 275/35/19 only improves the gap by .25inch. will 275 40 19 fit if not lowered? what if it was lowered? the offsets on axis supermesh are 40mm in the rear.
let me know guys....this is so frustrating that i wanna put my stocks back on.

Yes, 275/40-19s will fit fine. You may have to trim the threaded stud in the LH well for the Track model diffusers. Just leave about 1/4" of thread in case you want to put those on.

I just want my car to be having same gap as when i had 17inch stock wheels.... I searched around a lot on every size and now i am more educated hehe...

So if i wanna get the same wheel gap as my 17inch stockies, go with 275/35/19 huh? or would there be still more gap in the rear?

IMO to make it look right you need to go to 275/35/19 in the rear AND give it a small drop, something like RS*R or Tein S-Tech springs. If you have the correct size of 245/35/19 on the front there would be a 2" overall diameter difference front to rear with a 275/40/19. If you want slightly more sidewall I would try a 285/35/19 first.

i know you already have gotten some good advice but here is my set up. 245/35/19 front and 255/40/19 rear. has a lot of stagger. over an inch taller in the rear but as far as filling the wheel wells it looks about the same as stock if not a bit more filled up in the rear. no drop or anything.

well here's the final question then! about 245/35/19 front and 255/40/19 rear, is this set up better or 245/35/19 front and 275/35/19 rear? how about look wise on stock suspension/gap,performance,handling?

If your wheels are wide enough to handle a 275 in the rear then I don't see any advantage in using a 255. There is a reason the 245/35-275/35 setup is so popular. It keeps the stock overall diameter stagger (rears 1" bigger than the fronts) and the width stagger as well. You could certainly run a 255/40/19 on a 9"- 9.5" wheel if you wish, but I prefer wider tires in back - it gives it a more aggressive look. Everyone has there personal preference, but IMO there is no way around the "4 x 4" look on 19's without a drop.

if i remember right the main reason why i went 255 on rear versus the 275 was because of tire/rubber availability and the brand of tires. i have falkens and i think there was an availability issue with the 275 and getting the right stagger. i think toyo makes the T1-s in the right 275 size but my package was for falkens. i could be mistaken cause i did this over a summer ago and the memory is a little foggy by now.

what i can say is vertical heigth it filled the wheel wells out just right. but as far as width the 275's would be best cause my 255's were a little sucked in and i just threw an 8mm spacer in to bring it out to the fender. this can also be addressed with a more offset rim.

what size are your wheels?

yes, 275/35R19 is correct.

the "R" is for radial.
the other letters, "Z", "W", "R", are just the speed rating of the tire i believe.
