Why won't my F'ing rims go on!!!
I have a 2005 base. I just got my ruff racing 19's in today. I go to put the first one on, and the freaking rim won't go on. On my disk there is 5 threads for the lugs, and in between two of them is a brass colored nub with a nut on top of it. From what I can tell that is hitting the back side of the rim and is preventing the posts from going through the lug holes? Anyone know what that thing is and what I should do?
:icon32: |
If I remember right, that nub is used by the factory so the installers won't put the wrong wheels on from front to back. It can be removed to put aftermarket wheels on.
|
Which rims did you get? I am considering getting some Ruff's too! Just can't decide which one's to get. Post some pics when you get them on!!
|
Lol I love the title of this thread. I had the same frustrating experience.

I almost **** my pants when this happened to me considering it was a volk rim and the wait was kind of long. |
Some guy here actually milled away the metal mounting pad on the wheel with a dremel. :icon32:
All due respect if he is reading this. :icon38: Regards JET |

Its hard not to laugh at this thread because so many people have had this same problem and many of us who have been around a while know exactly what is going on from just reading the title, :) .
|
Had the same problem mounting Enkei RPO3's. I called local nissan service and, I SWEAR, the dumbass on the other end of the line said, "Yeah, it's ok to remove the bolt and sleeve, but don't loose them because you need to reinstall them when changing brake pads to make sure everything lines up right". WTF????

Don't feel stupid. I showed up at the airport last month on Monday morning @ 5AM when the flight out was Tuesday morning 5AM. I will never hear the end of that from my wife. :icon32:
Nothing like being early for your flight :icon22: Respect (even for people drilling holes in wheels when they should just remove the bolt) :) JET |
