on the nissan website, they say 06 Z non track is 12.6 rotors...was this the same throughout 03-06? if so, that means whatever rims I get, should fit for any model, whether older or newer?

Sorry but i dont know.

I run on MB motorsport 17x9 wheels w/ 275 tires all around. Lowered on KW variants, w/ sways. Looks sharp and handles great.

06 non-brembo brakes are bigger than 03-05 non-brembo brakes.

it is refreshing to have a thread discussing running smaller wheels than reading all the crap about how i can fit my 22's on my lowered z without rubbing. love it.

what is your offset? jeez, 275 on a 9 inch rim is too wide??? do you have any problems with the sidewall flexing when cornering?

yeah, i'm doing it for performance if you ask me...and for that sleeper look...IMO, making a car looks good is cool and all...but body kits, paint, big rims, and tires...are way too expensive if you ask me...i'd rather slap on some 17's (which are damn cheap!) and call it a day...i will have HUGE gains in the acceleration, braking, cornering department (becuz of the lighter weight, smaller diameter, and wider tires)....and keep my exterior mild looking so i don't attract attention...

steven88 09-11-2006 01:49 AM

btw, can you guys step in and answer this thread as well? it would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

+1, I myself am still considering going with some 18" forged monoblock volks ....

steven88 09-11-2006 03:41 AM

alright, i read through the FAQ...and it seems like if you want to run 9.5 rears, ideal offset is 15-25, is this true? according to that picture, Kolia seems fine with the 10 rears with a 35mm and 275 wide...i would have thought they would sink in alot more...

Kolia, do you get any rubbing issues on the inside of the fender? i'm askin, becuz there are some 9.5's at 35mm available...and was wondering if they clear the 350z fine...at stock height, and mild drops?

Offset in front is 27, back is 17.
Nope, fit fine. RT615s fit on a 9'' rim.
None, again RT615s are a stiff sidewall tire.

You’ll have to be careful at that width. You shouldn’t have any problem with fender clearance. I’d be more concerned with the rim-to-suspension clearance in the front.

I can’t mount my 17x10 +35mm rear wheels on the front as the rim of the wheel (not the tire) will rub against the knuckle’s vertical arm. A 9.5 rim with +35mm offset should give you ~6mm of clearance. Assuming the same type of construction as my 5Zigen wheels. It would barely fit. You'd have to test mount them.

oh no, i wasn't asking about the front....I'm asking if 17x9.5 35mm with 275/40/17s would clear the REARS okay? with a stock height...AND a mild drop? I'm asking becuz I don't plan on slamming the car...

LMGT4's? They're not volks but still Ray's. That what I'm running, its hard to beat 18lbs on an 18" wheel.

steven88 09-11-2006 10:31 PM

btw, does anybody know the weight of a 05 track/35th or 2006 base-enthusiast rim? i believe the 05 track/35th first started to use those 5 spokes...then it carried over onto the 06 base and enthusiast...they are the same rims right?

anybody know the weight for these?

I've had my eye on le28n for a while now. I'm just too in love with my SF challenges

I dont know if the GT-V's are monoblock forged, but i love those ones a lot... ever since i saw them in gunmetal w/ polished lip on another DB Z. I like the split spoke look, like the work emotions.

I can weigh the rim w/ an inflated tire. I have mine off for the winter. i'll try this weekend.

They're forged, but not a monoblock design, 2 piece IIRC
