Painted my Ruff 278's black. Opinions???
Need to lower the car a little more but I painted my wheels black in the center. Used duplicolor engine enamel with a wheel coating clear coat.
What do u guys think...http://picasaweb.google.com/Computer...is/PaintedRims
Im stoked about it, they looked like crap before to me.

looks good, but like i suspected there are few flaws here and there..
overtime it will most likely start to chip and peal, and then it will look bad.
the only right way to paint that would be to remove the center piece completely and powder coat it. ( and that is also questionable, since we have seen some stock powder coated rims break ! )
regardless of my comments, you did a great job, and if you had better tools and equipment you would do better. i just cant get over that dud who painted his rims red...

I scuffed it really well and used high temp engine paint, about a can on each wheel so its really on there. To be exact about 5 layers on each rim and each one dryed all the way between coats. Then to top it off I used about 1 can of wheel coating clear on each rim.
But yes u are right it doesnt look perfect but if u seen the rims before they where trashed and the color they were before didnt match the black at all. Ive just been toying around with these untill I can decide what real rims im going to buy. Im stuck in between Rota p45r's all black with red lip or theres some Axis rims I really like.
YOu think I should go ALL black??
Heres a pic of them before the blacked out lights and painted black. You cant tell in this pic but the front right rims is totally trashed. Its got scuffs ALL over it. ANd where various tools have taken off the rims the lugnut holes were trashed .
