So yeah, I was just rolling down 95 S to the beach and I thought my car was going to shake into pieces! This is the passenger rear. It must have gotten pinched when the tire went flat a couple days ago...oh well. I'm lucky it didn't explode at 80 mph on 95.

And while I'm at it, notice the wear on the inside of tire, it's like that on both tires on the passenger side. The driver’s side tires are not wearing down that fast on the inside. Any thoughts? Too much toe in on the passenger side? Or is it from my driving, seeing as how it's just not one tire, it both on the passenger side.

did you lower your car without getting the toe and camber corrected?

07rdsterGT Sep 8, 2008 09:22 AM

No, I didn't.

looks like your tire has a tumor!

350ZTheStandard Sep 8, 2008 11:19 AM

Maybe you can get NiSSan or Bridgestone to replace the tire. Glad you no died in a fiery accident.

WTX350Z Sep 8, 2008 01:10 PM

Yes the excessive tire wear on inside edge is from too much Toe out.

jmasi Sep 8, 2008 01:15 PM

ya if you didnt lower or mod your suspension in any way there is a lawsuit that won against nissans tire wear i got some papers in the mail saying go to nissan and they will replace your defected tires for free..if i can find that letter i will post it up..but try looking into it..

Agree.

I would like a closer larger photo, but the wear is a concern. Looks like you are scuffing the edge of the tire. Possibly toe yes.

07rdsterGT Sep 8, 2008 02:38 PM

Larger photo coming in the morning! Your going to notice weird wear on that tire because of when it went flat while I was driving a couple of days ago. Hence how the sidewall got pinched and why it bubbled out a few days later.

In the mean time, can someone explain to me why you think it is toe OUT? Maybe a diagram of the tire load will help me figure this out. Cause I thought it would have been toe in. But, I'm not like a mechanic or anything either.

This is weird. I am beginning to think this is common on the 07's because I think my car has uneven tire wear too. But I am not sure.

Some other guy on the forum said his tires look the same also.

Now that looks like tire feathering.

too much Toe out eats the inside edge of tires...this is fact, not opinion.

too much Toe IN will eat outside edge....another fact.

I'll try to explain it. Toe out means the tires are trying to go away from each other. but the damned car is holding them together...so they are scuffing against the ground trying their best to get away from one another. Toe in is the opposite...they are trying to hug, but the car is holding them apart, and they can't

Here's another example
when your skiing and your ski's are going this way (top is in front of skier) \ /....this is toe out. the snow collects in the middle.

when your doing the pie wedge / \ (toe in) the snow collects on the outsides....

I'm not great at explaining things over the internet....I lack the patience needed.
