Same as every day , you need the 275/40 rear. VDC won't like you , neither will ABS. If you want a square setup get 275/35 front and 275/40 rear.

yea i figured cuz i seen some base setups get away with it but different profiles i guess work only when the rear is taller then?

With a base its not as needed , but for ABS to still function properly you need the proper stagger in tire height from front to rear.

Also the staggered tire height looks better, our rear wheels wells have larger arches that need to be filled.

My thot was since its a percent of the width it would be close to a 245/40

Front tires are taller than rear.

Taller by just a hair, perfect setup if you want staggered on a car that doesn't require a stagger in height. ( RX7 , RX8 , supra)

Just to clarify, these aren't on the stock 18" wheels, right?

Bumble Z 08-04-2009 09:15 PM

You'd be surprised how many people do it because it's "cool". ;)

Is your local tire shop that you purchased the tires from refusing to swap them out for properly sized 275/40/18's? When you had mentioned the tire sizes they recommended it really shocked me as they didn't even check what year/model your car is and see that you have VDC. I hope everything works out Christian!
