Default Are Volk GT-C's clear coated?

When i went to the dealer today to have the general manager check out the damage they did to my wheels (see this thread close to the bottom), the gm said that the gt-c's are not clear coated. He said that from the looks of the damage, there was no clear coat and it was all to the actual metal. I'm mostly just looking to get as much information so that we can get this problem taken care of as fast as we can.

He said that they can just polish it or something and it would look good. But im not sure what would be needed if the wheels are (where?) clearcoated.

I have a few pics Jay took of the wheels today over here.

I think the longer the car sits like this, the more this issue is actually getting to me. I'm trying my hardest not to get angry and make things complicated.

Let me know if you guys have any advice on how i should handle this situation. Thanks.

I know for a fact that the Volk GT-C's and the GT-7's ARE CLEAR COATED.. I spoke to Mackin Industries which distribute the wheels and they told they are clear coated and specifly told not to use acid based cleaners to clean the wheels.. Also in the future to clean wheels use MOTHERS CLEARCOAT WHEEL POLISH>. Good luck dude

www.mackinindustries.com For Volk info

Hey dude,
I got the same thing going on with my wheels too. We just sent them back to Volk this morning. It is only the front set of wheels nothing is wrong with the rear set. I was told that there is a clear coat on them. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, this is not good news for me. They had the car all yesterday, and they are going to keep it today. They are doing a hand polish on them, im not exactly sure how it looks yet, cause when i saw them last night it was a bit dark, but they looked a little hazy.

I need some advice on what to do here. The dealer swears up and down its not clear cloated, i thought they where, but they say its not. I'm quite worried about what just polishing it with some stuff is going to do. Should i have them call Mackin and let them find out for them selves? What if they are clear coated, what just happened to my wheels? Damn, im getting so worried, its not like i can just drop another $3500 for a new set. I'm having a hard enough time paying for these ones....

I'll probably be going back to get the car right after work (if they are done). And if at all possible i'd like to be armed with all the information about the wheels and what to do as i can be. Great, and here i thought everything was finally getting better....
