Incident that happened today....SLP?
Hello everyone, I was driving my automatic 350z today and then i was making a left turn and accelorated quickly, i totaly felt the car "drift" but wasnt making and noise with the tires.. it was kind of wet not very and then on my dashboard I saw "SLP" blinking... i put the car in neutral and accelerated thinking i just need to give gas any ideas what happened im kind of nervous to drive.. it has popped up about 4 times this week...

Turning, accelerating and wet - that the perfect formula for a disaster.
The Slip light comes on when the wheels slip. Try reading the owners manual for an explanation of that particular indicator. If it happens in dry weather when you're not accelerating, then you might have the problem described here... https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....1&postcount=45 Otherwise, lay off the gas so much. |
Dave i preplaced my tires with 4 all season so idk if thats it but it was wet and i put a lot of gas is it anything to worry about with a lighter foot? I'm worried about winter but i plan on getting winter tires

he's probably running the 245/40's all around if so, then that would cause that

What's interesting is 245/45-18" all around seems to work. I've run this setup without any problem on a VDC-equipped car. --Spike |

^^ 245/40-18” is short for the rear tire. If you drive aggressively with a short rear tire you may see the SLIP light with a TCS-equipped Z. This is especially true on wet roadways (which cityslick43 mentions: ”it was kind of wet not very and then on my dashboard I saw "SLP" blinking...”)

Yes, I am running them on all four, Just bought some Contiwinter sport m3 winter tires all four winter tires for $240 they were 70% tread and made in 2005 so not that old of a tire.. otherwise I would have went wider but I couldnt pass up this deal being a college student and all. Thank you very much for input everyone I really appreciate it.
