Unfortunitally I have the "touring" model

Heated seats, cruise, navi, traction control etc.

All things that take away from a "sports" car IMO.

I dont have a lot of experience with stage 1 and a Z yet, but I do know from doing these on other cars and bikes, that you would get alot more out of your motor for performance if you did the basics first, a cold air intake, and a better exhaust to allow the car to breathe easier will go along way.

If you were to do that I would think adding the spacer at the same time would benefit a little more than if you did pipes and air without the spacer or spacer without pipes and air, but as others have said not so much or little you would notice it in the seat of your pants.

Usually the first 20 horses are cheap and easy, after that it starts getting expensive to find a few more here and there, and things like the spacer help find a couple so that when you do several things together you can up your numbers.

If it were me I would do the air and pipes, then a spacer and call that a stage 1, probably needs a tune at that point too, I know with my bikes as soon as you do pipes you have to tune or you will run lean.

Lean meaning either rich or not rich enough, lean is bad because you will run hot and can have pre ignition pinging, or pinging, also the car will run cooler with a stage 1, but again I would seriously look into tune options before doing anything and then put a package together, do a stage one all at once so you can see the full benefits and also so you know you are running properly and not causing other issues related to excessive heat.
Good luck, I am sure others with more experience can chime in and correct me if I am wrong here.
Just my opinion.

The correct terms are "breathing and farting mods." Think about it, you know when you have a cold your nose is stuffed and when you get nose drops you still have the tendency to think your nose is stuffed up so you breath the same way. Or when your around a hot chick but you hold in a fart for so long that your stomach starts to hurt. With a spacer and intake your basically introducing a can of baked beans to your Z and now your Z is thinking it has to hold in it's farts (running lean) so it doesn't embarrass itself around anyone. A tune is like a therapy session telling your Z it's okay to let it rip, we won't judge you.

Your Z is holding in it's farts and still breathing the same way it always did but now getting a slight upset stomach. That is my best analogy to explain to anyone who's new to this lol.

Gee, there are actually people in the world who arent gear heads and knows every single car term in existence, imagine that!! I mean were men, we should be born knowing all these terms and how to build a car up from scratch and take it apart again, right?

Great way to make people like these forums by making fun of them.

"I bet your lean"

"lean" adjective: not having much fat on the body : physically thin, strong, and healthy"

Get your car on a dyno, as everyone else has said in various ways your car will run a little lean as there is more air running through it due to plenum spacer although if you are planning any more mods like exhaust or open pod filter (by getting rid of standard airbox) then I'd wait until you've done that.

FYI - I don't care about your feelings, and I'm still waiting for pics of the chick in your passenger seat.

So far these forums....

- People ask question. The community only makes fun of them and ask's for pics of their gf's.

This is worse than Honda Tech forums.

Because someone mentioned my gf riding with me will "take away hp" because of the extra weight, so I ASSUMED by saying "lean" you were talking about my weight as well.

And the fact I didnt automatically know lean = fuel air ratio I was instantly crucified for it and laughed at. Like everyone is expected to know that.

We assume that if you already started to mod your car you have been lurking for awhile and doing research on your own and familiarize with these terms. Stop being a b!tch and grow a pair. Your acting like a little girl.
