Z Convertible
I read somewhere on the board last night that the roadster, due out sometime next Feb, is going to be priced in the $38,000 range. Can anyone confirm this. I like the coupe, but I really want to get a convertible bad. But I don't want to get a S2000 now that I've researched the Z. And for a person that doesn't have one, can you compare and contrast the Z to a Maxima? My mother has one and I'd really like to know the differences, since I won't be able to get one until June.
PS: Anyone in Central NJ have one or have at least seen a Z???

i know of a couple deliveries in central nj. you haven't seen a z yet? i haven't seen any besides mine or the ones at the z car show - so i guess they're still pretty rare if you can't find someone who's willing to show you theirs, i'd be willing to take a little trip and show you...let me know...

Haven't been down that way in a LONG time. I'll see one. What color, type is yours? As you probably have read, I want a convertible, but I love the Z, do you think I should just screw the S2000 idea and get a Z?
The only Z I'll see is in my garage in Sega GT 2002.

Mine is a Daytona Blue Touring Automatic.
Your stook vs. z debate has to do with when you need the car and how much you're willing to spend. The s2k vs. Z Coupe is a fair trade - just depends on what you're looking for. If it's that big of a decision, maybe you should wait til you drive one - or wait til the specs/prices are released on the convertible. It's all up to money and time Good luck!

I have an S2000 and am seriously considering buying a 350Z next, maybe in '04. I love having a convertible, but I'm not so sure I'd get one in the 350Z. First, the Track model is what really drew me to this car, and I don't expect a Track convertible to be available. Secondly, it's already on the heavy side (no flames, just my opinion), and the convertible will likely be even heavier. Finally, I'll be interested to see if they maintain the chassis rigidity. The S2000 is best in class in this regard, and you can't appreciate the benefits of such rigidity until you experience it over rough roads &/or hard driving.
Thus, looking into my crystal ball, here's my $.02.
Want a coupe? 350Z
Want a convertible? S2000
Not sure? it's a tossup, depending on what factors are most imp. to you
