I can't think of anything except see if you can get it insured by one of your parents with you as a nominated driver. Sucks but it's all I can come up with.

Does living in Sydney cause the problem
I am 25, rating 2 (50%), no claims or acidents, no finance.
Quoted $1500 and that was using a 200SX from a major insurer.
I live near Cairns in Far North Queensland. (No my neck is not red!)

Sydney is the most expensive for insurance. I had the same thing happen when I was 20 and tried insuring my MX-5. A few said I was too young to own the car and wouldn't insure it. What a joke. Torque came to the party and have been fantastic. Too bad they won't insure anything over $50k.
