I went down to Englishtown over the weekend for ClubLoose's Hot Moves Event. Speaking from last year... Hot Moves is not a good event for me, it's A. hot, and B. I break things. Last year I folded my rear suspension over in the first 6 laps in a fast sweeper and forgot my spares ending my day. This year.... I was on track for even less time....
Arrived at the track early, ready to shake the car down and have fun. Still had some work to do when I showed up (reinstall seats, install new 6pt harnesses, and a pressure sensor), got that taken care of and went through tech inspection without a problem. Then the car wouldn't start.... got a jump, and noticed the voltage was low when at WOT. Tightened the belt up, no worries. Unfortunately a radiator fan died, ok, running a bit hot, not a problem I'll just limit my runs. Except then once the car got heated up it started misfiring. We later traced this down to my crank trigger wheel being a bit on the thin side, so when the sensor heated up the resistance changed just enough where it no longer read the field accurately and caused triggering errors to show RPM changing from 2300rpm-0-3400rpm-16000rpm.... needless to say it stopped running when that happened. So I started the car back up, and tossed it in the trailer, effectively ending my day. Which was probably for the best as it is NEARLY undriveable without power steering the way I have it set up. My shoulder was injured earlier this year and I'm still hurting from driving the car a handful of laps this weekend. I'm going to install a custom PS setup in it this week after I add some fittings to a new rack/make a bracket to put the pump where the AC compressor was.
Here's a short video of 2 corners.....

Headed to ClubLoose's Freedom Moves the 11/12th so I'll hopefully have more video then.

Dude it sounds freaking awesome. I just have to say that I love tweaking but you sir took it to a level that most can't even imagine! Most will never grasp the amount of time and money you have in it. Congrats, its one cool ride.

Went to Watkins Glen, my local (and one of my favorite tracks), everything seemed normal, pulled up into hot pits for my first session and the car turned off. Wouldn't restart, and the motor appears to have tossed a bearing. Unfortunate, but these things happen. Going to investigate the cause this week before I decide to just toss another motor back in. I want to make sure it was a random occurrence and not a broken oil pickup. I wouldn't be surprised if this motor had been run dry a few times having known it's previous history. Didn't have any warning lights on the dash and it died at idle so kinda odd, but hey custom setup, modded track car, like I said these things happen.

I love it good sir, sorry to hear about the motor. You now have a lot of options when it comes down to it. My friend just picked up an RB25dett for $1200 bucks with 20Km. You ever think of a swap like that.

No, why would I engineer this entire swap and then goto a setup that's less reliable? I have another motor for this, just haven't had time to put the car back together as I'm moving right now.

I wasen't trying to be disrespectful. I was just asking what you were planning on doing a different swap and saving some coin. Best of luck on getting it going again. I really dig the 370z front.
