Default Metallic/vibration noise between 1-2.2k Rpm

Hello guys, ive searched forever and have not found anything useful about my problem.

I picked up a 2005 coupe GT about a month Ago.
It drives great but it has a loud metallic/vibration noise between 1-2.2krpm.
Its more like a vibration/resonated sound than a grinding noise.

The sound was there when i bought it but i was sure it was the heatshields above the cats, but it was not.
Myself and a mechanic has made sure that there is not a single loose part under the car.

He's Only guess was that it came from the transmisson.
It is only apparent when accelerating between 1k and 2.2k then it dissappears.

The Engine and exhuast sound excellent above 2.2k.

The car is Nice and quiet in neutral as well with the clutch down Both when you rev it and at idle.

Thanks in advance guys.

I bought an 07 coupe touring and my car is doing the exact same thing, however just sporadically. I'll be bringing my car to the dealership this week because a service is due anyway and will ask them if they can find out what's making that noise.

If they do I'll make sure to let you know

Sounds like it has a lightweight flywheel.

Could be your heat shield rattling. Does it sound like a tin can with a rock in it?

Hey martin,

just to give you an update the dealership wasn't able to recreate the issue when I brought the car in so it's still a bit of an unknown for me. Mine is very sporadic but I was able to recreate it fairly regularly over the weekend

I figured out mine only makes the noise in 5th and 6th gear when I hit 2k RPM. If I let go of the throttle and let it drop to 1.5k RPM and accelerate again it doesn't do it anymore....

I'm stumped to what's causing this noise in my car
